Very nice course
Excellent course, very friendly staff and had a great time.
Pace of Play
Love Rooster Run but the pace of play is pretty much always slow and I believe it's because the Marshall's are told to send players off every 8 minutes in lieu of the 12 minute requirement. I feel if they changed that, back to 12 minutes between players ~ it would be a delight for everyone.
Golf at Rooster Run
The groundskeepers kept the course in excellent condition and will recommend the course. I wished they had a restaurant that served breakfast or lunch so we could hang out before of after the game!
Boring and slow
I played this course for the first time this morning. It was boring and slow. Despite being pressured to tee it off from an extra 400 yards further back than I usually do by the group we were paired with, I ended up shooting well.
But I didn't have fun. And it was not a fast round. The people I played with treated every putt like it was to win the US open, and squabbled with each other constantly. The marshall came out to hang out with these guys (regulars, I guess) but never said a word about pace even when there were 3 clear holes in front of us on 16 tee on .a Saturday morning.
The course is your classic, built in the 90s "stretches to 7000 yards" wasteland of 60 bunkers and 10 ponds that don't affect good players but give crappy ones fits.
Won't go back.
Three and a half hours
The greens were recently sanded, after nine holes I switched from my sand wedge to my gap wedge for chipping. Should have done it earlier.
40 on the front, 35 on the back.
The tee boxes and fairways are nearly perfect, in a couple of weeks the should be awesome.
5 STARS...
Tee time 7:30 was early enough to get a fast pace round in with no waiting.
Good course conditions
We were right on time to tee off at 10:52. They do have a starter on the first hole and a course Marshall to help keep the pace of play moving along. The grass driving range is great and the practice green is big and in good condition. Tee boxes, fairways, and bunkers all were in good shape. This is not a big long monster course but it is a challenge. With creeks that cross the fairways on a few holes and tricky greens this is a good test of golf.
Nice long local course
Normally great but back nine got horribly backed up. Even the Marshall apologized. Quit after 16
Great course
Great time. The fairways are open. Awesome driving holes. A great course to improve handicap.
Great Local course
Course is one of the best local courses in Sonoma County and is well maintained. It is set up very nice and most of the second shots on the par 4's are around 150 yards.
Today's Game
Course is in good condition and the pace of play was much better! Yey, Marshall's!
Nice local course
Good for a comfortable outing and there are a few challenging holes. Not really a ”resort course”, but it makes for a nice round
Rooster is ALWAYS fun to play when the pace of play is adhered to. It is a nice course and the staff is extremely friendly. I would certainly recommend trying this course out!
Makes you feel good about your game
This was an easy and fun course for me (19 handicap) shot an 87. Very well maintained.
Greens were Shaggy
So, this isn't the most challenging venue you will ever play, but is a decent track that is exposed to wind. I would say that at this present time the greens are the weakest link. If they mow them down this place would be quite a challenge from above the hole.
great course
This is a well maintained course I have to say it's the best course I've
played in the bay area this year because of how well it was maintained
Highly recommend this course to all palyers
NO TROUBLE! !
Such an easy layout, water doesn't come into play, bunkers easy to get out of, fairways roll well, slick greens. Good rates. Sounds too good, to be true? Not if you're looking for a fun, hacker friendly course.
However, if you hook the ball a lot, you might want to stock up on extra balls, beer, and several frustration tablets.
