It's only 9 holes and about to be demolished
I was very disappointed with this course. It was. It made clear that there are only 9 holes ( the back 9 having been turned into a housing estate). . The clubhouse had been demolished, some of the bunkers were totally overgrown with weeds. It was in a pretty poor state and not worth the money.
Very good overall but awful greens
Really impressed with the quality of the fairways and a lovely course in general. Enough difficulty to keep it engaging and nice scenery. Only letdown is the greens, harshly spiked and heavily sanded so the ball rarely stayed online. That was a real shame, but maybe this is a rarity and they are normally better, I cant say. Would try again here to see if greens improve.
NEEDS A BIT MORE CARE
I play this course every couple of months and one thing that is clear is that - with the pending closure for housing development - no-one is spending much money on making sure the greens in particular are up to scratch. The recent aeration will help but the process of punching holes in the green left ridges every couple of inches, meaning the putted ball tended to bobble and change direction.
Upkeep very good
Tee off time was at 08:21 and we played at a reasonable pace/ fairways were beautifully kept and greens were brilliant. For a golf course that is closing down, I thought the conditions were superb. 1 bunker had weeds but I’m not complaining about that. It was GUR so move your ball to the designated area and play your shot. £24 for 18 holes at 08:21 is fantastic and you won’t see too much of that at other courses.
Nice course but greens disappointing
Good course and very fairly priced.
Greens were abysmal though. You can see the grounds man had been on there as there were big holes embedded on the green. This caused putting to be uneven and bobbled everywhere. In fact there was more sand on the greens than the was grass which was concerning and disappointing.
Decided not to play
Tweet times sold to others
People stacked at tee 1 so slow play and played before with slow play.
A shame as pretty good 9hole.
No facilities on site
A good nine hole course for general public
No amenities on site, very sparse which was a shame
On wind down to a close
Bad condition, tee boxes on the wonk, very slow play, tee times also sold to others, poor greens.
Decent 9 hole to double up 18 on
Nice afternoon of golf. You play the same 9 twice for 18 but challenging enough to keep you entertained. Fairways could do with a little more love but tee and green areas in really good condition. Not much facilities available on site. But worth a round
