Must play in Palm Springs CA
Beautiful course and very friendly staff. Good layout.
Dinah Shore Tournament
I played this course in a tournament. The course was in beautiful condition and greens were medium fast and true. Very playable course for all handicaps.
I really enjoyed it here. I had the opportunity to play several courses and am thankful for that. If you can get on, it is a great experience.
Everything about this course was medicore in my opinion.
An enjoyable enough experience, but I have to assume there are better courses in the area in terms of layout and conditioning for the same price
Everything about this course is medicore in my opinion.
The greens rolled ok, but were slow. The layout is not interesting. The value is not there.
That said, this option was very convenient for me as I was staying at the hotel on property with my wife and newborn. I played every day at 6:30 in the spirit of time.
I hate to tell you but you didn’t play the Dinah Shore Course at Mission Hills Country Club. That’s where the LPGA just finished playing the ANA Inspiration, they’re first major 2 days before. You probably played the ‘Westin’ Mission Hills right next door totally separate and not affiliated at all!
A bucket list
This course turned out to be my second favorite course among all the courses I've played (250). Yes, it is that good. I even rated this course above Pebble Beach due to the cost difference. The experience, starting with the staff, the course condition, the layout, the playability, the challenges, ... Awe, a great course in the desert. I have a better appreciation of LPGA players after playing the course. I'll be back later this year for some revenge.
Parking: mostly valet so be considerate when you pack your golf club in the trunk.
Facility: Elegant and spacious. Very classy. The open feel of the halls, the view from the restaurant and the well stocked pro shop.
Staff: Very courteous and helpful. Professionalism.
Course: This is a treat. I've watched the ladies play their annual major couple of times so I was a bit familiar with the course layout. But, as one can imagine, things look a bit different standing on the tee boxes. The tournament tees plays out to 6600 yds and the course isn't as tight as I had thought. The greens weren't at tournament speed so I can be thankful of that. Overall a great experience. Will definitely play again.
Dye-abolical Golf at its best!
Pete Dye is a great course designer but also seems to want to make you love him or hate him throughout your round. The Pete Dye Challenge course at Mission Hills Country Club is a very difficult course. It challenges the best players and separates the good golfers from the great ones. Dyes classic use of moguls and water make this course intimidating but very memorable as well. At least half of the par-4 and par-5s have water down the left side of the fairway, with only one hole that has water on the right. The moguls and rolling mounds force you to aim for the fairway and if you miss, you could be severely punished. If you enjoy a challenge, PDC at MHCC is right for you, but be prepared to swallow your pride, take your medicine and shoot a slightly higher score as Pete Dye takes you on a beautiful course through the desert!
Great course with great conditions. Was a blast to play. Not overly challenging, and traditional Palmer design.
Wonderful Course with great features
This is a wonderful private course with some great challenging features. Would love to play here again.
