South at Rancho Murieta Country Club

Visiting from Oregon when saw this deal on GolfNow. Beautiful sunny day and very light play on the South Course. w/11:15 tee time. Only small glitch in round was pro shop told us there was a starter on #1, there wasn't! Course is very nice especially 10/11 around the small lake. Fairways great considering it is late Fall. Greens receptive and nicely maintained. Played silver/bronze tees and at times, with the bright sun, was difficult to find the right tee (tees small painted rocks!) but we were not in a hurry! Nice course! Will come back!

Well designed course. Manageable approach for long hitters.

I played this course 30-35 years ago when it was first built, carved out of the rolling foothills of the Sierras. After almost a 30 year hiatus I recently played this course again. Houses, nice ones, now border almost all fairways. The course has matured, the trees have grown up. The course is beautiful and remains a challenge for all golfers.

A treat at a reasonable non-member price.

This was a nice country Golf ! Sad the Pace was realy slow !

wouldn't recommend this course as fairways very spotty and burned out in cettain spots-appears maintenance is lacking-very disappointing for country club

Need more sandy bunker. I play ocean course Bahamas / port royal of Bermuda / Lake Tahoe Edgewood/montreux golf course has it’s all sandy bunker . You need to put more sand

We plan to play again but not on a hot day of 106 degrees

I picked the hottest day of the year to play, 105. But that is OK, I enjoyed the course and I played well. The tee boxes were good shape, the bunkers, well I was only in one and it was a little hard. Fairways were good shape and the greens were very nice, a little slow but you adapt. I think I only saw a couple of divots that were not repaired, I took care of them. The staff was very friendly, got a turkey sandwich before I started the round from the snack shack, excellent and the lady working there was extremely nice, Thanks. One other thing I might add, I went out as a single. Had 2 threesomes go out ahead of me and both asked if I wanted to go ahead, one even waited on the 14th to ask again. The people playing were very considerate and the pace of play was excellent. I will play this course again.

Playing Rancho Murieta was a real outstanding. The course was busy, but I rarely saw another group on the course. The only complaint I have is 'I can't find anything to complain about'!

It's been awhile since I played the South course. Totally forgot how picturesque, yet challenging it played. However, despite the challenge, it was a really fun day. Every hole had it's own way of making me feel like playing 18 more.
