Holes in the Hills
First time. Booked thru GolfNow. They let groups of five play which slows things down. Way finding is confusing with golfers and disc golfers playing at the same time. Very hilly, muddy. Not sure I would go back again.
BillyGoat course now with Disc Golfers!
I've golf at Elks a 100 times so I know what I'm getting into when book a tee time. It's a short course that's very hilly and not in great shape and usually a good deal. Not this time..I paid more than I've ever paid before and it was mid morning in the middle of the week. Usually the pace of play is pretty good but this time they booked Disc Golfers at the same time. We waited at every hole. I won't be going back to Elks anytime soon.
Lost
This was a comedy from the very beginning. From figuring out where the first hole was to figuring out how to get to the next hole after each finishing putt. The course is a joke but for $25 you have to keep your expectations in check and wonder how long this property will remain a golf course.
Never again
This course is in really poor condition, no grass on tee boxes, fairways. Greens in good shape. I am a 2 handicap and shot even par, 1 brdie, 1 boogie, 7 pars. My girlfriend who doesn't play often had a hard time because if you can't hit the green with your tee shot the ball can roll anywhere and you will have a dirt lie. Very hilly no flat lies so not a fun course for a high handicapper.
Great customer service, smooth greens, great views
I really enjoyed this course. 5 beers for $10 special, the greens were perfectly maintained, and the course was beautiful. Will definitely be back again.
Backed up 2-deep every hole
Good 9 holer usually to sharpen the short game but soooooo slow with too many golfers out. Foursomes in carts on this course is laughable.
Turf between holes was a cow pasture.
Course needs work
This course has great potential, but it is not well maintained and is hard to find your way around on for a first-timer. Lots of bare dirt and dead grass between tee boxes and green areas, and the tee boxes have been moved around quite a bit for no obvious reason. Expect LOTS of hills and a good workout if you're walking.
Everyone Relax haha.
It’s a par 3 course, of course they let the “fairway” get dry. It’s - not a fairway. It’s a PAR 3 COURSE. Tee to GREEN is what it’s built for.
Hard greens to hit even for experienced ppl. I enjoy it time and time again to tweak my iron game. Greens are slower then last summer but still better than muni courses around. Go with 7-8-9-P and enjoy it.
Note; look behind most boxes, you can tee off even further if you want.
Water The Course!
I'm a resident of Redwood City and have been playing here for several years. The course goes through it's "Up's" and "Down's". Not sure if it's currently under new management but it seems they don't water the fairways as much anymore hence some of them are completely dry . I know we are living in a drought environment but they could come up with a plan to water with recycle water. I don't mind "roughing it" here and there but playing on the dirt on the fairways is not my cup of tea. It's nested in a great location and they should take a little more pride on the maintenance. It's a good little course to practice your short game. Bring a 7, 8,9, PW, and putter.
