Nice Greens
These are fasts greens around.
Thank you for visiting us and for the kind words. We hope to see you back out on the course again real soon!
Not with it
I've played here at least 5 times now and every time the staff have been rude and short with me, especially since I've booked through Golf Now. The greens are wretched, even though they recently redid them.
While there are some bright spots (the beer is cheep), it's not worth being condescended to bu the front room staff.
We are sorry to hear of your bad experience with us as we pride ourselves on customer service. If you would like to discuss things further, please email us at proshop@orchardhills.com. We hope to see you back out on the course again real soon!
I'm not sure what happened to you on this day. By the time I had played 5 times they were calling me by name. How did you treat the staff? Sometimes the customer isn't always right. Give the place another try, It's worth the money all day long..
If you were wearing the proper attire I agree with you however I've never been treated like this at Orchard, the front desk people are very nice. In experience at this golf course there is a lot of denim out on the golf course. Naturally the course is a business so they aren't going to turn you away if you're a paying customer however if you're wearing denim you're cheapening their golf course and hence the front desk has a problem with you in jeans.
great for all players.
price is fair but hot deals are great

No rush on this Thursday afternoon
I came to Orchard Hills for the second time. Course has s good layout with lots of water hazards, pretty fast greens and apparently new sand in many bunkers. Unfortunately some of the tee-boxes and greens need some maintenance. Noise of the adjacent I-85 can distract the game on many holes.
Overall it was worth the trip.
Always great at the Orchard .....
Pro always greets you, and most times by name.
Was shocked that he remembered mine.
course was very good for the winter time, but a lot of fun as always to play.
Sat./Cold
The course was in great condition considering the rain received in the past week. Only a few greens needed some serious attention. fairways were soft so the course played long. Overall it was a great golf course on Nov. 21, 2015.
Greens are in bad. Shape
Fairways are in good shape. The greens however are awful.
Public Course worth a round or two
Its fall, so sanding of the greens is just one of those things you deal with. That and some blight/green issues is the only reason I dont rate a 3 or better.
Course has enough real par 5's to challenge your t shot accuracy, several drives requiring you to clear a water hazard, a couple of tight par 3's, and over all a fun course to play.
Its in a transition stage with the weather, greens are not all that consistent, some blight on one or three, and as I mentioned several have been sanded, so not really fair to judge them on required maintenance.
Course has some nice holes for a Public course, with 4 tee box selections to really make or break your round if you want to challenge yourself. Blue and Gold tees' can be more than 100 yds behind the white tees, so yes, it can make for a challenge.
I am not as long in my drives, first time playing, I stuck to the white tees' Shoulder issues aside, even the white tees are a reasonable length if you are a Junior golfer working up to the Mens tees, or an older golfer with less drive length.
Overall I will play this course again. Play time was about avg, 3-some in front of me was less than speedy, but, again, its an "Open to the Public " course with memberships available..
This is a good course to play
This course offers a unique layout, with some interesting holes. Some, straight and short, some over or along water, and a couple of fairly long holes. The course plays fair.
Rough course
Obviously the course is having some big time problems with their greens. Temporary greens are being used and they are horrific. My putting was excellent because the hole sizes were twice the size of a normal cup. Good luck. Overall descent course for the money.
greens and info poles oneach hole
I am 75 yrs old and played this course for the first time and enjoyed it as the fairways were in great shape but as the starter told me many greens were on a temp basis as they were in repair but the ones that were not in repair and playable were still in need of some hard work. The markers showing what hole and yardage were almost all broken and needed new ones. Over all except for the two things i talked about I enjoyed the course.
Thank you
Course is in good shape with the exception of the greens
Paid $25 to play which is a pretty good price for Orchard Hills. Considering the recent heat, the fairways are in good shape and it's obvious ownership is working very hard to make the course a really good one. However, the greens were some of the worst I've ever seen. I understand it's hard to maintain a course in Georgia in the summer because the sun has a tendency to turn everything into hardpan, but that doesn't really explain why there are weeds growing on the greens, or the rough shape of the greens that are mostly shaded. I like Orchard Hills and I will play here again, I just don't entirely understand why the greens are in such terrible condition.
Tale of two nines
Started on the Rock Garden and found it to be somewhat sketchy on the greens and fairways. Hot weather has most likely been challenging for the maintenance staff. However, we turned to the Orchard side and were pleasantly surprised. Looks like the new ownership is headed in the right direction and given time, this fine course will once again shine.
Great Course
Course is in great shape. Would've been perfect day but the HEAT made it rough on this old man. But that's not the course or clubs fault, it's mine for booking at the hottest point of the day.
Don't Waste your Time
I have been driving by it on the interstate for 15 years and decided to stop and try it out - Glad I got a hot deal. left after 5 holes. clover in the fairways - hard as a rock - dinged a club on a shot from the fairway off a rock. Playground sand in bunkers, weeds-weeds-weeds. couldn't get a tee in the ground far enough on two of the 4 tee boxes that weren't par 3.
It's the caliber of a low-end muni course.
Great value, great improvements!
I had the opportunity to play this course for a remarkable value, less than twenty dollars. The greens were in great shape, the fairways were solid. The only improvements for today could have been the tee boxes, that are very hard. I struggled to get tees into some of them and had to look for soft ground on each one. The sand traps were in good condition, some looked to be recently sanded and were great. I have played this course numerous times in the past few years but it is by far in the best condition in years! Very much worth a Weekend play.
Master's Special
Took advantage of the Masters Special. Small bucket of range balls, 18 holes, and a sandwich. Course is being improved. Greens were great. Fairways are getting plush. Should be good this summer with a little water. Some of the tee boxes need improvement but no other issues. Had a brand new cart. New management is making a difference.
Masters Special
Come play 18-holes of golf Monday-Friday (April 6-April 10) for $32 plus tax and receive one free Pimento Cheese Sandwich along with a small bucket of range balls. Offer is good while supplies last and not good with any other specials/promotions.
*******If you read the last sentence in the email that was sent out regarding the Masters Special, it clearly states that the offer is not good with any other specials or promotions.
Management Kills It
I'm very disappointed today, due to this course.
I've played this course no less than 150 times in the last 10 years. I've seen it go from good, to terrible, to decent, and back to good. I can tell you that there are new owners, and they are working very hard to make the course more playable.
First, the pro's -
Greens are fantastic!!! Very playable, and they don't break as much as they appear.
Bunkers are in better shape than I've seen in quite some time.
The staff on the course are patient, and actually pay attention to golfers.
So why am I rating it so low??? Well, the last five minutes at the course has made it so that I will never go back, and I will tell as many golfers that use golfnow as possible to not support Orchard HIlls, is due to management. This may come across as a bit petty, but today, they were doing a "Masters Special" a free pimento cheese sandwich with 18 holes of golf. A free sandwich that costs 2 bucks at the masters. We booked our hot deal yesterday through GolfNow, and played our 18. Got to the clubhouse, looking forward to that pimento cheese, and were told no, because we were prepaid. There was nothing on the advertisement at the clubhouse that specified that. Only "free sandwich with 18 holes." Now, I wasn't really even worried about it, until we were talked down on because we booked through GolfNow. Like we weren't good enough, because we didn't pay full price. Why would a course allow GolfNow to represent them, if they feel that we are too cheap to be out there playing?
This course was recently bought out, but the management here is going to quickly run off avid regulars due to attitude. I play three rounds a week, and due to that attitude alone (yes, over a TWO DOLLAR SANDWICH) I will NOT be playing Orchard Hills again. Too many options to deal with a manager that looks down on us for using GolfNow.
