Greens are in great shape!
The course is in the best shape that I have seen in a long time. The greens are quick, and they normally a little shaggy. The maintence crew has been doing a great job, as the last couple of times I have played here, the greens have been great, the fairways manicured, and the kind have been moved to different spots. They used to keep the pins in the same spots all the time. Great job Jack Tone Golf. Keep it up!
it's getting better every time
it's coming back everybody you know with the Stanislaus River coming up and flooding last year this poor old River Course took a beating on the back nine but with a lot of hard work
It's getting better all the time big thanks for the groundskeepers
I do miss some of the trees and some I don't miss
Nice Course
Nice par 62 course. A few spots still getting back in shape from last years floods, but the course is in overall good condition. Perfect for my wife and I to play. Very nice employees.
Good place to play
Nice executive course for senior players. Great and friendly staff.
Ok for the money
The course is being repaired due to winter flooding. The fifth hole is a nightmare to figure out. Some added flagging or signage to point you toward the green would be great. A fun time at a cheap rate but some of the holes could use maintenance. It should be great next year.
Need a refund
We have played jacktone course many times , but we weren't told the course is flooded and they only have 7 holes . Disappointed that golfnow booked our round as 18 holes - pro shop told us they had informed golfnow as soon as the flooding happened and that we need to be refunded !!!
Perfect for beginners!
Although this isn't the nicest course I've ever seen, as far as the grounds, it was absolutely perfect for me and my boyfriend as beginners. We absolutely loved that it was laid back, and the staff was WONDEFFUL! We actually ended up playing two days in a row cause after the first day we just loved it and wanted to go back, and it is affordable enough to do that. We are fairly new to playing on a course (me so more than my boyfriend) so I always get a little nervous trying somewhere new just because I never know how busy they are and I hate to feel rushed by people behind me, or feeling like I'm holding up a group when I am out there trying to improve my game at my own pace, and this course was perfect! It wasn't so busy that we were waiting on anyone or anyone was waiting on us but we still got to chat with some other golfers and everyone was friendly and helpful. We will absolutely be going back, and I highly recommend it to anyone, especially beginners who are trying to improve their game.
Could be really nice with some care ... a real shame
I was hoping with all the rain we've had the course would be in better shape ... but it's still like playing in someone's cow pasture. Even driving the cart from one hole to another will rattle your fillings out. There is no such thing as a fairway ... unless you don't mind dandelions and clumps of grass and weeds along with bare spots in your fairway. It was actually hard to find the ball .. and the greens are very inconsistent and some are really in bad shape. I don't care how cheap it is to play here ... it's NOT worth it to me.
Go for the Greens, Fun par 3 course
A challenge for the short game. Great atmosphere. Very friendly and welcoming
Using Golf Now .....13 bucks for 18 holes with a cart.....tough to beat that deal anywhere
Good for the short game
It was windy and cold the day I played. I would recommend it for beginners and to practice your short game. Wide fairways and lots of 3 par holes. Good value for the money.
Course Difficulty
Layout is designed to improve your short game. Try it. If you want to consistently hit the par three target, this is the place to practice. No reason why you shouldn't score in the 70's. I score in the 90's in Napa
Nice executive course
Nice executive course but amenities need improvement
nice course, friendly staff and owners
I play the course at least once a week. A challenge for the short game. Great atmosphere. Very friendly and welcoming
Has this course been worked on and improved? The last time we played here it was WORSE than a cow pasture.
