About
The Championship 18 hole course and driving range contains 140 acres adjacent to Salinas Municipal Airport. The course is a par 72 with a Black Tee 71.9 rating, a Blue Tee 70.7 rating, a White Tee 69.4 rating, a Red Tee 69 rating and a Gold Tee 65.4 rating. In 1998 Golf Course Architect Steve Halsey, of Hlsey Darary Golf in La Mesa California redesigned the course for a complete renovation. Mr. Halsey is an accomplished California Golf Course Architect having provided architectural design for the following golf courses: The River Course at Alisal, Solvang; Coronado Municipal Golf Course; Balboa Park Municipal Golf Course; Salinas Golf & Country Club; Palo Alto Golf Course; Modesto Municipal Golf Course and El Segundo Golf Course.

Salinas Fairways
Golf course is in good condition, greens are excellent. Extremely full of golfers on Sunday, solid tee times through 3:00pm. Snack bar is good with friendly staff. Pro Shop employees, Pro and staff need lessons on accommodating customers and friendliness

Greens
The greens on this golf course will compare to any on the Monterey Peninsula. In fact I would say probably better than eighty to ninety percent of the greens on the Monterey Peninsula.

Staff
Checking In should be a lot easier than it is. when purchasing through GolfNow, you should be treated as a normal paying customer to the course instead of an annoyance.
Grounds crew staff is awesome and very friendly. Plus they do an awesome job!
A course that truly shows its age
This old muni course is a great place for beginners and seniors. All the holes are fairly easy except for a few holes on the back nine. Located next to Salinas airport it can get windy on the back nine which can wreck your score and ruin your day. The greens are nice and playable. Bring your patience because a lot of locals walk this course and the pace can go really slow.
Fairway Days
Nice cool weather, little breeze, haha! Greens were like good for the most part, some evidence of players not fixing ball marks. Rest of course pretty much what you would find at any municipal course. There was good sand in most of the traps. Pretty good day of golf overall.
Boogie man
smooth fast greens ok fairways need fresh sand in bunkers but overall not a bad layout.
Quick Round
18 holes in 3 hours. Course in decent condition. Wide open fairways. Flat. Few water hazards. Easy layout. Great practice round.

Great value for the course. Greens are in great condition. Staff is very friendly with a home town feel.

Greens punched and was not notified when booking
The greens had been punched the day before it was a "Hot Deal" and that information was not discloused when booking. You could not put as then sand was so heavy you need a rake to go on the greens… Course knew this information but did not disclouse it..

EVEN AFTER THE RAINS, THE COURSE WAS WELL DRAINED, THE GREENS ARE FAST AND TRUE, THANKS TO THE GREAT GREENSKEEPER AND STAFF. I PLAYED WITH OTHERS FROM ANOTHER LOCAL CLUB, AND WE ALL HAS GREAT ACCOLADES FOR THE COURSE AND CONDITIONS.
Beginning to play
This is a very good course to learn on. The fairways are wide. The greens run true and fast. The hazards are easy to avoid. Overall, the course is very forgiving for the beginner! The course is fairly flat and easy to walk as well. Ross, the golf pro is very knowledgeable and friendly! His tutorial fees are extremely fare and affordable! Mike and the staff are also knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly! The amenities are nice. Like I said, a very good course for the beginner! Come and play!
Beginner
This is a very good course to learn the game of golf on. It has wide fairways and well kept greens. The back nine is wide open so, the wind can be a real challenge! Overall the course is very forgiving for a beginner, like me. The golf pro and staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The course fees are the best in the area! All this makes Salinas Fairways the best value and golfing experience on the Central Coast! You owe it to yourself to "Play the Fairways"!
Nice course for the value
Salinas Fairways is a nice course for the lower prices they offer. It can get windy, especially in the afternoon which can make the back 9 much more challenging.

The course was in great condition and the greens were extremely well maintained. They were very fast, but true. We played 18 holes in about 3 1/2 hours. $20 to ride at 8:30 you couldn't ask for a better deal.

I apologize for your poor experience.
I had GolfNow post that we had aerified the greens...but somehow they did not post it on the HotDeals! I corrected this as soon as I found out that it happened. The greens have fully recovered from the aerification and are back in great shape.
