To bad golf advisor did not informed me that the golf course was closing the following day the 56 dollars l paid l could of had playedsome other golf course
Old Friend
The fairways are in rough shape right now, but I suppose that’s due to the course closing soon. It’s sad, kind of like losing an old friend. Still had a great time playing and always great service from the staff. I will play this course as much as I can before it closes for good.
Appears to be sold
My friends and I would regularly call this our home course because the great price for the course and it being close to home. Last year we noticed the greens and fairways grasses dying, and I chalked it up to the drought that California has been going through. However, yesterday we showed up to find the main driving range had been sold and is currently under construction of a giant warehouse. The courses lakes are more than half empty, and a lot of the course has not been kept up. This use to be my favorite course in the area and I’d tell everyone about it, now I would suggest to look elsewhere because I don’t think it’ll be here much longer. It’s a shame.
Good bye old friend
Course closing soon and they have cut back watering. I.T is very dry fairways really bad. Greens still ok. Sad to see.
casual
Course was never in perfect condition, this time was no exception. It was a perfect day to hack away!
Play Soon Course is closing
Unfortunate for all of us the course is closing in 2018. Played this course since 1972. The course is not being maintained as it has in the past. However, for a course of less than 6200 yard it does provide good challenges. Sad to see it and the Calimesa course close. Both are good courses for beginners and older folks who don’t hit it far.
I learned to golf on this course many years ago.
Still a challenging course after all these years. Fairways are in poor condition, as they prepare to close.
Good for practicing long iron shots.
Has seen better days. But it's an old course and the layout is challenging. Not long but tight. Like playing a Texas course in the old days. Needs watering but makes you learn to hit shots on the dirt at times. It's the right layout that's interesting.
For the price you get a lot for your buck.
Course has gone down hill dramatically
San Bernardino is of course a short course. it used to make up for being so short by having nice playable conditions. This is the first time I have played this course this year and I have to say I was really dissapointed in the shape of the course. Dead grass everywhere. Greens beat up badly. Some greens taken over by clover and other grass. To me it looks like they have let the course go completely and it won't be long before it is actually shut down. It's too bad too. The layout of course is good. It makes you play smart or score high. It's a shame to see it in as bad of a condition as it was.
PATCHY
THE FAIRWAYS AND GREENS HAD TO MANY PATCHES IN THEM.
Desolation & Dirt
Well....it was too good to be true...the $18 to play on Labor Day that is. The reason was obvious as soon as you made the turn into the complex: Total desolation and dirt for fairways as you drove by the first hole and a lot of construction on the former really large and nice driving range. This course was never in an ideal location, right in an industrial area and right next to and within smelling distance of the water reclamation plant. But, and a major but, they cared about this course and it was always in very good shape with special attention to details and operated by people who loved golf and its traditions. All gone now and I understand that the course is shutting down as another one, and with these conditions the golfers too, bites the dust...literally as that is what you see and taste everywhere, dust. Trophy bass in small ponds are being allowed to die off, greens are mottled and badly damaged in many places; I expected a bulldozer to pop out somewhere to begin work to level the place at any moment. I never thought I'd see a worse course than Riverside Golf Course as it was being allowed to die but this one has it beat. Wow. And sad. Stay away even if the 1/2 off sale sign goes up, you will not be happy and I think its time to just pull the plug and play taps here. "Move along, nothing to see here folks, move along."
San Bernardino Golf Club
The course is closing in 6 months or so... They are letting it go... I got a hot deal and was jazzed. But it should have been free... Lilerally 25% dirt and dried grass... Greens weren't bad though...
I enjoy playing this course. It's probably one of the best values for your money in the Inland Empire. The staff are very friendly. The course is very well maintained. The dining area is very cozy and the food is excellent. I try to play at least once a week.
My good memories of this course are gone. It's an absolute cow pasture. It's closing in a year, so they have totally let it go, except for the greens. I am shocked they still played the county amateur here. Pay more and play somewhere else.
It's not worth the savings
I will admit that the greens were in goodish shape. But the fact that in the middle of each and every fairway there was no grass is inexcusable! I am talking about EVERY fairway! The pro shop attendant was amazingly friendly and even remembered my name on the turn. I think he did that level of service to counteract the conditions of the course. If you really don't care play there that's all.
Just a poorly kept golf course
Conditions are bad. Fairways are dry with holes everywhere. The course was way overbooked, impossible to get a good pace! I'd rather pay a couple of extra dollars to play elsewhere.
Oldie but Goodie
This is an Older course but for the average player it's great. Not long but can challenge you. A few holes with water, would like to see management clean out the greenish/yellowish growth on top of these water holes. Practice balls are an assortment of old, a few new and other people's. You can hit of mat or grass. Putting green is very good. Didn't use the snack bar however several golfers were eating burgers/hot dogs also they sell beer and soft drinks. Will play again as I'm Oder and most of the greens I can reach in regulation to 2 putt for par. Swing Away
