Not worth the money for non-SF Residents...
Even though there are some stunning views of San Francisco - including the Golden Gate Bridge - along the way, this course is poorly maintained, badly supervised and, in some places, downright dangerous. This is because the cart paths are poorly marked, the public (mostly tourists) is allowed to walk near or in the way of the golf carts and in some cases in the path of flying balls - no fencing or nets - with no marshalls in site. Did I mention no driving range!!
My advise...if you really want to play within the City of San Francisco, pay more and play Presidio. At least you'll be able to enjoy a real golf course setting and not a public walking park.
While playing, we wondered whose liability would be should you hit a person walking on or near the course with an errand drive: the City, the victim or YOU?
Great Views, Short Course.
Don't let the poor reviews scare you away from this course. Great views on nearly half of the holes. Friendly staff. Good food.
Greens were a good mix of mid and moderately challenging, fairways were in decent shape, tee boxes were in good condition, bunkers were in good condition.
Tougher than it looks
Don't let the course rating or short total yardage fool you. It's very difficult for average golfers to score well on Lincoln Park.
It includes three par 3s that are in the 200+ yard range. Very hilly so you rarely get a flat lie. Many of the greens are diabolical with extreme slopes. It doesn't help that right now, the greens are also very bumpy and inconsistent. For lady golfers, the red tees are often just a few yards in front of the whites so not too much relief. You also need to navigate the many oblivious pedestrians just walking through the park while you're trying to tee off.
On the positive side, you can't beat the views, especially on 17.
Stay Away!
I was charged more even though I had a rate on GolfNow. The course is simply not in good condition.
Great Course
Overall Lincoln is one of my favorite courses to play in the Bay Area and especially in San Francisco.
Price is very reasonable and course is beautiful.
Course offers carts but they are limited but walking the course or using their electronic push cart is perfect for this course as well.
Only downfall about course is that if it rains in SF the grass could be super muddy and make it difficult for shots.
Lastly, the gentlemen who runs the front check in and store is amazing. That man is super helpful and very welcoming and makes your overall first experience with the course a great one especially if you haven’t played here before.
10/10 highly recommend for Lincoln Golf Course.
Pace of play
12 holes in 4 hours had to leave. Greens are brutal
Putting green conditions
Overall is ok, but the putting green is totally not ok. I doubt wether they have done maintenance/repair or not. Terrible conditions. The best part is the view.
Beautiful View course
You can see the Golden Gate Bridge from the course. Beautiful view, happy playing. If the off-course amenities are improved, it would be better.
Greens are infected. Wouldn’t recommend.
Course in horrible conditions. Greens are infected. Fairways are not mowed. Tee boxes are in shambles.
Unfortunately bad greens
Good valeur for money, too bad the greens were really bad. It kind of ruïns, what would otherwise be a 4 star round.
Great experience for a visitor
Excellent value. Awesome views. Challenging layout. Course plays very short on everything except some long par 3s to finish. Some great elevation changes as you would expect in SF. The ocean front and views of the ocean, bay, and city are the highlights. Fairways were fair, but extremely soggy. Greens were not in great condition, but weren’t horrible. Sand was in good sharp. Short course - big hitters can mostly leave the driver in the car. Many holes were 4 iron tee and a wedge. Very fun though. Had perfect weather and no waiting (teed off at 7:20 though).
Mixed experience (no carts)
The course provided rental clubs to the group. However, there were no carts or pull carts so the group decided not to continue after 9 holes. This is the 3rd time this happened - no carts available. The course should increase inventory of carts and pull carts. After happening 3 times, likely won’t return.
Lincoln Park golf course
Amazing course for San Francisco i love the 17 hole 🕳️ it’s a signature hole beautiful background golden bridge 🌉 is the main view i will recommend my friend and family to play and experience the city course!!!
Fantastic views and great value!
Not many golf carts available so we walked 18 and actually glad that was the case. Lots of inclines and declines and a challenging layout. Greens were in good shape. Watch out for random people walking or biking on the cart paths. Beautiful views!
Lincoln 9/26/23
1). Greens were poor. Many ball marks never repaired - leaving scarred, black spots of bared ground
2). Sections of many fairways had brown, bare ground ☹️
3) optional cart fee was outrageous. $50 per cart whether shared or single….noted that manual carts were available….
Lincoln value not worth a penny
The Greens are in the worst condition possible. Major fungus and diseased grass on all green. 50% of the game is played on a putting green and the greens are just bad.
No bathrooms on the course after the 5th hole - just lots of players using the trees as bathrooms everywhere on the remaining 13 holes. The club house is in poor shape, the trip down the stairs to use the Men’s room is dangerous. There is even a sign warning people of the steps down.
I will not be returning to play at Lincoln Park Golf Course until a major renovation is done on the course and to its facilities. They have raised the price to play and rock bottomed the quality of the course. Disgraceful !
Rundown golf course desperately seeking makeover
I like the layout of the course overall!
It’s just shame that didn’t have proper management of the course. It is beautiful course that needs little more maintenance!!
No Carts!
We arrived on time to check in. The attendant said there are no carts available! What? He offered to charge $20 per push cart. I had a sore Achilles to start with, so we only lasted 9 holes. Horrible traffic to get there. I won't be playing that dated course again.
