What a shame
This is the DMV/TSA of golf courses. So much wasted potential while it's run by the city. Charging market prices for a course with no range, no restaurant, until recently they only had electric carts that had to be charged after one round. Any tee time after 11:30 you were SOL.
The course is VERY hilly and spread out. Feels like you are playing in Golden Gate park. Which would be cool, but the park feel is pretty strong. Like did somebody just punch some holes and call this a course? Greens were alright, most seemed to have different things growing on them so seldom did you have a really true roll. Showed up at 12:30, no starter on the first tee. Could have just shown up at hit without paying. $50 to rent a cart. Is this TPC Harding?
THE ENTIRE COURSE IS CART PATH ONLY. The reasoning we got was that some people crashed their carts and sued the city. At first, that sounded semi-logical but how come out of the 50 public courses I've played this is the only one that has had this issue? The more I think about it the more BS that reasoning sounds. If public courses all had that liability none of them would have carts..
A few holes have incredible views of the bay and GG bridge. Not sure why the city hasn't sold this to a professional golf course management company to do the place justice. This is a travesty.
Caveat:
I've played Lincoln Park before, during and after Covid-19. I'd say the current setup is the best the course has ever been. The employees are friendly and work hard. It's not their fault they haven't been given the tools to succeed.
Screwed!!!
W I arrived 2 hours early only to find out they have no power carts available which was included in my reservation. I’m a handicapped player!!!! They offered to rent me a push cart for 20 bucks. I’ll never be back there!!!
Lincoln park
This course is definitely not in good shape. I guess if you walk it might b worth $30 but it’s more than that to play. God forbid you want to use a cart. 30$ as a single rider! You are looking at $80 to ride n play this course. That’s ridiculous for this track.
Overpriced
The course was not very well maintained. And to spend $150 I would expect the fairways to have a good amount of green grass. I have played many courses in hawaii and they were not anywhere near as expensive and were leaps and bounds above the condition of this course.
Best place to play during hot weather everywhere. It is always cooler here
Very interesting course with great bay view and city view.
Tee shot placement is critical for certain holes. fairway has some bare spots, but not that bad. I just replaced the ball on the grass whenever ball landed on bare spot on the fairway. The biggest issue are the greens not being continuous. There are gaps between the grass and the balls need to roll through these gaps to reach the holes sometimes when setting up for putts.
Tough times at Lincoln
I’ve never written a review before but this is necessary. Lincoln park has completely gone down hill. If you can lose your ball multiple times by hitting the middle of the fairway.. I’m thinking you should probably do some course maintenance.
The staff doesn’t care at all and love to make your day as sad as the golf course you’re about to play on. They won’t even tell you they punched the greens and continue to charge you full price.
Instead of paying these criminals.. go literally anywhere else. I’d rather sit on a cactus than pay the clowns that work for this circus.
Not worth the money - find a better course
This is not a course I would suggest playing.
The carts are cart path only and the pace of play is terrible. I thought the pace of play would be fine at 6:30 but it was terrible with 5.5 hour round.
The greens were in terrible condition with no sign of maintenance.
The course food wasn't available so you can't purchase beverages and they say that outside beverages are not allowed. I would suggest opening the food shack.
This was definitely my last round at this course.
Best views of any course in the Bay Area.
You will have nice views of the ocean, interesting views of San Francisco, and fabulous views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Marin coast. Not a great golf course. A decent walk around the course because, while short, it is pretty hilly. Conditions are lacking and there are hundreds of people walking around oblivious to the fact they are on a golf course. But overall it's a good experience and we had a fun time.
Golfing with Amazing Views!
The course is challenging with many blind shots required! Extremely hilly, so a riding cart is advised; however it is walkable if you’re in shape. I’m 57, and my foursome walked: 2 carried and 2 pushed clubs. Fantastic views all along the course! Great photo opportunities of the Golden Gate Bridge.
I would play this course anytime!
Bad
guy in the pro shop was horrible, almost scared us away before we even started the round. "Stay on the cart path if you don't well kick you out of here got it and I mean it we will kick you out"
So dumb. Not like I couldn't read the 30 signs on my way in that say cart path only.
Pace of platy was slow and marshals didn't nothing about it.
Great course! Beautiful views!
If you like beautiful views of San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge, Golden Gate Park and the Pacific Ocean all at the same place this is your golf course! It’s a hilly course that will test your club distances but I recommend playing the course.
Poor conditions but spectacular views
The SF parks and recreation department needs to step up maintenance and course amenities. There are no garbage cans so beer cans litter the tee boxes. There are no hole information signs. There are pedestrians walking over the course and we had to hit around a junkie zoning out on the 17th fairway. The clubhouse amenities were old and tattered
That said the views were gorgeous. The course is historic. It's like a faded old movie star.
