An easy walk to enjoy
I'm biased, as ST is technically my "home" course since I live within walking distance.
It might feel "overpriced" to many who play on weekends with a cart, but during the week and at twilight, it feels like a steal while walking it.
I wish more munis could be kept in this type of shape. It is firm and bouncy, so you have to control shots and play the ground game. A few holes are mundane, but overall, an interesting and thoughtful layout.
My only complaint would be the all-mats range. Wish it were grass.
I've played ST for over 30 years, and enjoy the layout as well as the course conditions of this popular golf course.
My request to players: REPAIR YOUR BALL MARKS. I make a point of repairing mine as well as 1 or 2 others on each hole. The course and facility is well-maintained.
Good public course in silicon valley
Good public course in South San Jose. Has all the usual amenities ( with the exception of bunker practice areas). Great for kids, beginners and mid handicappers. Kind of pricey for the layout.
Very Slow Pace of Play
First off, I really enjoy playing this course. However, the pace of play seems to worsen week after week. We tee’d off on Sunday at 2:00. Finished the front 9 relatively quick (1.25 hrs). For whatever reason, the back 9 got extremely gummed up and pace of play went to a near stand still. We waited on the Par 3 14th for nearly half an hour to hit. My buddy and decided to quit early seeing that it would have taken us 3 hours to play the remaining 4 holes. The tee times need to be managed better and a marshall is needed to enforce pace of play.
Decent course, fun back
This was the first time playing Santa Teresa.
The layout for the front 9 is uninteresting. The back is kind of quirky but fun. Speed of play was good. Quality of greens was very good except no one fixes their ball marks.
Overall a fun round.
Good public option in San Jose
Santa Teresa is nicely maintained public course in South San Jose. The front nine is relatively flat with trees providing most of the challenges. The back nine is more interesting and challenging, with more elevation. Played in four hours today even though we had to wait occasionally.
There is a fun nine hole par 3 course in addition to the regulation 18. Also a driving range (mats) and a chipping and putting green.
The pro shop, club house and lounge are nice with an outside patio by the putting green.
Overall, a good value and pleasant place to play a round.
course in good condition, windy and cloudy made for a cool morning......play was slow for early out tee time...otherwise enjoyed round with 2 some we played with.
$100 to play in the winter? Give me a break
I used to love this course and play all the time but wow they keep raising their prices because sure it’s Silicon Valley people will pay. That’s is BS and it’s a shame that good to average courses now have the nerve to charge triple digits for green fees. Make your money Santa Teresa, another reason why people are flooding out of CA.
Lots of fun!
Everything was great except they need a Marshall! Group in front got 2 holes in front of them after 3 holes and it got worse. Called pro shop and they fixed it eventually...Thank you
