Great Value
Played the course with my brother and two close friends. This was the first time that any of us had played the couse. The course was in good condition, with some bare spots on some of the fairways. The best part was the greens, they are large and in very good condition. The course layout was somewhat challenging for our group. We all happy with our golf experience today. We will come back to play this course again.
YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR
bought a hot deal tee time. Big mistake. Golf cart lasted two holes before calling for a replacement. appears their cart fleet s is old and batteries are dying according to several employees shared a cart with a person who never stopped talking.
Good side is the fairways have improved and greens are slick and fast
Nice little jewel on the coast
I played a weeekend tourney here. The course is a lot more challenging than it looks. You can still score, but you need to stay focused. The greens will challenge you with the hills and ocean. The clubhouse is really great. The food is good and the staff is friendly.
VIEW worth the SLOW play!
This course has many different & challenging holes with tremendous views. Its not long but you need to keep it straight as there are many hazards to be found. I really liked the layout.
To be fair with this review, we were greeted by the starter that told us Golfnow double books and didn't know how soon we were to tee off. This NEVER happened to me before and I've used Golfnow many times. Although the course took 5 1/2 hours to play, I really did enjoy the day and I'll be back!
Challenging
Awesome golf course, fantastic layout and in great condition
Lots of fun holes one blind shot dogleg fairway. Sand traps protecting greens but open in center for placing your shots and yes some water too but even the beginner can have fun there.can expect to play in 4-4.5 hours.
Great course
With Ray running the show it is a greatly manages course. Outstanding greens and pin placement.
Pace of play
Over 5 hours to play 18 h. I had never seen that in 50 years. That is why I would not recommend going there..
And we were lucky a few groups left the course in the middle of their round. Otherwise we would still be there.
Love to Golf
Course is in good condition. So nice the carts have GPS! Food is very good too!
Definitely worth playing. The greens are great. Kept my interest level up the whole way. Will go back a few times next trip.
Back to playing at SJH.
Thanks for removing those tree in the middle of fairway 10
Course is always longer due to the elevated greens.
Enjoyed my outing
Slow play behind a small tourney
Course was nice, but we were behind a 20 player tourney and marshals did nothing to let us play through, or speed up the drunks.
Didn't finish after about 5 hours.
Office at the golf course
The weather was perfect and the course was in good shape considering it just had a lot of rain! The sandtraps where in terrific condition!
San Juan Hills
Nice course. Funky layout starts out a little uphill par 4 that’s an easy start. Then the next few holes are straight out of a fit them into the land available and you wonder what’s going on. Then the fun begins with a downhill par 5 that’s and absolute blast and should be reachable for any single digit handicap. Word of caution no room around that green and ball could end up rolling down to 5 freeway for all we know. There are areas very close to the greens that the ball will just disappear. The next holes take you to the clubhouse and are pretty uneventful. Cross the road and you feel like your in riverside county and that’s some of the charm playing here. Cross the road again and now your in a palm desert resort course . Great variety and if you have skills you’ll love this place. If your long and wild you’ll need a dozen balls or more and a lesson on how to stay on the hole your supposed to play. Overall great course with semi fast greens and does not disappoint with condition, friendliness of staff, and variety of holes.
