Conditions are atrocious
Played day after a heavy rain, so it was cart-path only. That's not the fault of the course, however, the fact that there is uneven grass on the green and tees is. The greens are extremely slow and you really never know where your putt is going, because after you line it up and hit it, it might be thrown off course by an errant tuft of grass. Whoever is writing all these glowing reviews must be an owner as this is one of the worst maintained golf courses I've ever played.
Because of the wetness, many of the fairways were squishy, but again, not the course's fault and to be fair, if dry, they probably would be ok. Many bunkers had standing water and none had been raked. The conditions are doubly a shame as its an interesting layout which favors the right-handed golfer with a draw or lefty with a fade and could be a great course if worked on.
Staff (1 guy in the pro shop) was very friendly, but he also had to retrieve carts from the garage for us, so I guess they're a bit understaffed. Also, its in a housing development with some of the houses practically on top of the tee boxes and fairways. There are no signs once you pull into the development, and you just have to drive until you stumble upon the clubhouse.
It was cheap ($22) to play, but none of our group would go back.
Lost Plantation
Pace of play, staff, price, and layout was nice. The greens could be in better shape but overall it’s a decent course to play on. Will be back in the future
Rough course conditions
Layout is nice but conditions of fairways and tees are poor greens are terrible. Does not drain well. New bar restaurant is awesome and fairly priced.
Good course, odd greens
The course was overall rather nice, I enjoy the layout and the general condition of the course is good. The only complaint is that the greens were crusty and they smelled like they had been watered with the muck from from a stockyard. Some of the greens also had a strange patchy growth that made it putting around a bunch of large coins that had been scattered over the green.
Yikes
In almost 20 years of playing this course, this is the worst I've ever seen it. Not sure if it was the harsh winter, vandalism, or neglect, but the greens are significantly blighted and fairways & tee boxes are sparse and weedy. Some of the teeing areas were placed where there was no grass at all.
We like to support our local muni, so we are hoping that things improve dramatically throughout the Spring.
Course conditions were poor but most appeared to be winter damage. Greens were especially poor condition
Have played here several times but always in March which may be the reason it was in poor condition
Perhaps it’s in better condition during summer months. .
Restaurant wasn’t open. No chance to take advantage of 19th hole.
Nice course, needs a lot of love....
This course has a lot of promise, it just needs a lot of love from the staff. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens all need some serious love. Some of the greens are 3/4 burnt, fairways cut to the point of being hardpan, Very wet, low lying fairways as well. Has promise, just needs time and love.
STAY AWAY
Do not waste your time or money coming here.
The greens are horrible with the exception of maybe two and I’m stretching it there. Dead spots and dirt completely surround each green with about 5-10 ft of actually grass that has weeds all over it in the middle around the hole. This course is known to be wet but it is ridiculously wet several days after rain. They should take the money they are investing in there new bar/lounge and put into the greens, tee boxes and drainage issues. GPS on the carts suck! Pace of play is horrid. Have groups of 5,6 and 7 playing without letting solo or doubles play through. I could go on and on. I will never be back and will never recommend to anyone!
Lost Plantation
Some greens had quite a bit of sand now. Greens will be better as spring comes in. Course holds water and was boggy in many areas. Overall I like the course.
nice day
course was a little wet. play was cart paths only. still had a good day.
Great layout! Bare spots on greens
Lots of Bare spots on the greens! Tees and fairways good
Great Time
There were three to four greens that needed a little TLC however the rest of the course was four star my partner and I were very happy with the pace of play conditions of the fairway and the greens that did not need any TLC we're above average. We had a great time and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating I will be back.
Going down hill
Haven’t played this course since November. I’m not sure what happened but they should be putting money into the course instead of getting new carts. The greens are in terrible condition. Hold 2 is basically a sand pit for the green. It’s a nice course in the summer but right now not worth playing.
Ehhh
I play this course a lot mainly because it’s right here in town. The greens are in desperate need of repairs. The staff tend to not be very friendly and well sometimes grumpy.
The course has a good layout and it is challenging at times. Just needs some love and repairs.
Great Value for the Money
From Las Vegas and visit the area four or five times a year. Rincon Golf Course is on my Bucket List each time. The new carts with GPS is a great addition. Hats off to staff and management. Staff goes out their way to accommodate players. Mr Gobble in the barn is awesome. I forgot my clubs on the cart and returned two hours later. Clubs were cleaned and waiting for me to pick-up.
