Very friendly staff, better than before. There are water in the river so the course became more difficult and funny.
Some good features.
Little surprised to see this lay out in middle of city
I normally enjoy this course, but got stuck behind some slow players. Asked a group if we could bypass them if we skipped a hole. We bypassed them with their permission. We came upon another slow groupwho had no buisiness playing from the blue Tees. Again we bypassed them by skipping a hole with their permission. After that it was like playing on a normal day. Pace is one the reasons I play there often. .
Worst Course Ever
Probably the worst I have ever played. If you have a young child learning the game then I would maybe consider playing it, otherwise awful, Mickey Mouse course that looks and plays nothing like the photos.
I love this golf course.
I can’t get enough of this golf course. No crowds! Best deal in So Cal.. Fun and challenging course as it’s situated in a riverbed with dog leg up and down holes. Fairways are average, but greens are well maintained. Very easy going and friendly staff. The only down side is the ineffective AC in the small restaurant. I’m hooked.
RIVER VIEW GOLF COURSE
THE GREENS ARE ROLLING VERY TRUE AND WITH GOOD SPEED
Greens and tee boxes ok. Rest of the course in pretty rough shape.
Great price greens are good. I don’t mind the course being in a riverbed. Great low key spot
It was ok
I have it a 3, the service was ok, the course is ok, if it was cheaper I would rate it higher but wouldn’t go back at current cost
River View Golf Course, Santa Ana, Ca.
Challenging layout, greens are kept in pretty good condition. I Like this course because most of the time it keeps moving and the fairways are not in fair shape, most of the time the greens are in very good condition, especiall for a Public Golf Course. The People in the pro-shop are genuine and friendly. The Snack Bar seems reasonable and descent offerings.
Person working club House was rude and smelled like alcohol. He was screaming on the phone to someone. Once I paid I was able to start playing right away which I thought would be a good thing but later realized that’s what he did to the party of five and party of four in front of me. Had to wait 20-30 mins in every hole which was horrible. They had no marshal to speed up they play. By the 5th hole I was over the waiting so just left.
I’ll never go back to this course again!!!
First the course is fairly large with a good number of par 4’s and a few 5’s. There are some challenging holes but with wind. Played a few months before without wind and I played fairly well. However this round really humbled me in that you have to take your game one stroke at a time. Really good place for course management and approach shots. My home course is Newport Beach Gold course and River view is definitely more difficult for me to play. Our 18 holes took just under 5 hours. Slow pace at first with multiple groups starting late but the pace picked up after about the 5th hole starting from the front 9. The layout is pretty good but be aware that the layout does result in other golfers hitting into your fairway. We had balls coming into our fairway on the back 9 a couple times and a few time when we were on the green. Overall I would probably come here twice a year at most. Hope this helps.
