River View Golf Course

I’ve played River View a few times before. I played after a night of rain and got really lucky the morning was bright and sunny. The course was in excellent shape considering the three days of ran we’ve had. This course is known for taking great care of their greens and they did not disappoint. The fairways were also in great shape and the rain we got put some more water in the river which made it more scenic and fun to drive the cart over. The pace of play was very good for us starting at 9:15 on a Saturday. We were done in four hours.

Overall the course was OK, but not pristine! The east side of the 4th hole was great - RIVERVIEW listened and cut the rough to a reasonable level! The fairways have had an excess of riverbed sand get in the soil base, and that makes for some hard turf - sometimes it was like hitting on wood or astroturf.

I've golfed this couse many times, and usually the fairways are decent! However, the recent rain has layered the fairways with a hard pack below the grass; sometimes like hitting into wood! ...course needs time to rejuvenate!

I have played here about 4 times in the past 9 months, my recent visit I’ve notice a major improvement in course conditions. Greens are nice, grass is well kept! I love it.

Fairways and greens were in very good condition due to the work they are doing they were a couple of holes that we skipped

The course is completely botched. 100 yard par 3’s that have no yardage reading. Score card doesn’t match up with holes or yardages. Play hole 1,2,3 then it’s completely scrambled. Pretty ridiculous price at $25 dollars.

Besides the terrible pace at this course it was quite enjoyable. We were stuck in about a 4-5 cart backup on hole 4. This is mainly because they allowed a group of 8 out right before sending 3 more groups out. Wouldn't have been that big of an issue if there was space behind to play slower, but when you have a huge line you start to hurry yourself.

For a light rainy day course was in as good as shape as you could ask for.

Thirty percent of entire course is flooded with Santa Ana River water forcing course staff to shorten 18 holes to 9 holes.
Not a good time to play now.

Booked the regular course on line. Drove an bhour and a half to be told it was closed because of all the rain. Short executive course 9 holre was open. Should not have been rough shape. There should be notification after booking on the closure or they should not be allowed to post times. Very frustrating.

Played on a Wednesday starting at 10:15am and finished 2:30pm (4 hours 15 minutes) First time playing here and really enjoyed the course layout. Big elevation changes and some blind shots into higher greens. Putting area is really nice and they have a 18 hole putting course. Will def come again!
