Santa Barbara Golf Club

This is a very good course. Enjoy playing it. The course is forgiving and challenging at the same time. Staff is very friendly.

Every time I golf and there are two guys working the office, I know it’s going to be a late start.
Case in point, my husband and I were ready to tee off. We had another 20 minutes before are scheduled time.
I watch the tee box for literally 10mins. and no one was up there. The previous group (4 some) had already played off and they were coming the first green. No names were called over the speaker, I guess they were too busy chatting or eating nuts inside. I ask if we could go off earlier, since no one was at the first tee box. They gave me a lengthy answer telling me other people had times before us even though no one was there. After that discussion they finally called a group of 4 to the first tee and we were set up with another twosome behind them.
The group of four guys were still waiting for someone and they went to get something to eat and drink and bring back to the golf cart. When they finally got back and went up to the first tee box I ask them what time was their tee time. The guy told 1:20 pm and it was already 1:43pm.
If only you had a starter out there watching and calling people consistently. Others would get to go off on time!
The club house has been so lazy and allowing people to go off when they want, because no one in the office cares to do their job by calling golfers to the tee and keeping the pace efficient.
I sincerely hope that this review get to someone other than management, because they’re doing a lousy job.

Book this Tee time last minute to take a buyer out.
Played with some very nice locals, who knew the course well. The weather was spectacular(Sunny and 76). Staff was kind and helpful!. Course was in great condition and a bit challenging. Will definitely play this course again.

The pace of 18 holes was very good. No waiting on any of the holes for other golfers.
All the greens and fairways seem to be in good shape . Very few hazards.

Great layout! Definitely walkable but I didn't as it was my 1st time there. All the par 3's are a challenge even tho a few are super short! The par 5's were within reach in 2 if u hit a superb drive n solid wood in from the tips. Pace was good. Greens were true but a bit on the slower side for me. Good muni track!

The round was frustrating characterized by slow play. No marshals were evident to speed the pace of play. I do accept slow play becuase it affects my golf game.

With inside City limits convenience, this 6,019-yard public golf course offers more of a challenge than it’s length suggests—lots of trees, elevation changes, sand and manicured greens that can be quick and tricky. “Muni” also beautiful mountain views, a peak at the ocean, a fully stocked clubhouse, affordable rates and homemade American and Mexican food at its independently managed Mulligans Restaurant and bar.

Excellent Mumi course. Good course to have fun. Greens roll true. Great views. Great staff. Snobish golfers may not like this course but who needs them anyway.
