It's very close to being a pitch-n-putt
I think this is a cute little nine hole course. Some of the par 3's were actually pretty nice, and while the all three par 4's were short, the tree lining on the first two makes for a more controlled tee shot. The 9th hole is a wide open par 4 that frankly isn't very interesting.
The course fits into a square block that obviously is too small to house a proper golf course. For that reason, tee boxes are rather close to greens from previous holes. Greens were in pretty good shape, albeit very soft (bring your divot repair tool - a wedge will leave a large hole in the green). Fairways were under watered and very spotty, which i assume comes from a combination of drought and foot golf. It only matters on three holes though. Tee boxes were also poorly-maintained.
The soccer shenanigans were a bit distracting, but I suppose it's a nice way for an otherwise non-full golf course to earn an extra income.
I might return. I kind of liked it, despite all of its flaws.
Irons & short game practice
Great 4 a "Hot Deal" on golf now, but a short 9-holes. Perfect if U have only 2 hrs. to play. Good place for a beer & bite after ur round.
Super convenient 9 holes
This is a great little course to get in a quick 9 holes or if you don't have the whole day to be out golfing. Quite tight but that's part of the challenge. Greens in good condition and pace although a little slow was acceptable all considered, managed to get 9 holes in just over 2 hours on a Saturday afternoon. Would recommend and will play again.
Muddy day at the course
Two days after the last rainstorm fell in the Bay Area, I played the Pruneridge GC in the afternoon. There was still a lot of standing water on the fairways, and even small lakes on a couple of holes. Surprisingly, the bunkers were mostly free of water. Due to the rain, the grass was high everywhere (including the fairways), and there were a lot of leaves all over the ground, so it was difficult to find our balls on nearly every shot. Balls hit high would disappear in the mud once they came down. Although these rains cause extra work for golf courses, they need to respond to it and at least clean up the leaves and cut the high grass if they're going to let people use it. Lastly, please fix the nets on the 9th hole near the practice range. Practice balls are all over the fairway on the right side.
Decent for the Area
The course is great for a quick round after work. The condition can vary heavily, and the fairways are in rough condition right now. Pace of Play is a struggle at times, but manageable.
Beautiful Day to Play
Very windy out on the front 9 since it's very flat. Back 9 was harder and less windy by the time we got there. Started at 1:37 and had to stop due to light at 5:30. Overall great day of play.
Favorite Course
As a beginner I love using this course so I can practice well. Highly recommend for every beginner.
Cool course
This was my third time going to the course and I’m not gonna lie. It’s actually not too bad especially in the early morning . Great course for new players .
Good course, expensive driving range
The course is a great little 9 hole. Good for beginners. There's a few longer holes that makes it more than just a par 3. The course is well kept, and the layout is fun. The driving range is disappointing though. The facility itself is very cool, but the cost of a basket of balls is more expensive than other ranges in the area, and I got multiple balls in my basket that were sun baked, and even cracked. I'm not expecting Pro v1's, but more than a few bad range balls is unacceptable for the money I paid.
Play here more
I definately will look to play here much more often. All the amenities I could live here
Great value and conveniently located
First time playing here. Wanted to get some golf in but not spend an entire day on the course. This place fit the bill. Easy to book. Check in was a breeze. Practice facility was right at the check in area and easy to find a hitting bay to warm up. Lots of lessons taking place. Nice course layout, great for beginners with low stress and seasoned players honing in the short game. Opportunity to play different irons and driver if you so choose. Pace of play faster than expected for a weekend, took just under 2 hours for the 9 holes. Overall good experience
Pruneridge Santa clara
Great place to get a quick 9 hole round in. It is a very welcoming place for golfers of every skill level.
