Nice Course
Good practice course. The phase of play is great since it's on a weekday but overall I think it's pretty good. No complain.
I love to play at woodley lakes golf court and will return again.
Old easy rude staff
The staff and management at this course are rude and unappreciative of their clientele.
I was overcharged $32 more than twice. And given some excuse for why that was unacceptable. Courses are easy greens aren't management as well. Balls plug play this course for 15 to 20 years, not playing It ever again.
Played here for twenty five years since high school
Do not bring your wife or kid to spectate. They will charge you double the rate.
I had a hot deal on golf now. With cart included for $31.
They charge me thirty two dollars for my wife to ride along.
I've played thousands of golf courses much more higher quality than woodley .. Never been charged more than the other seat.
Twenty dollars max and that's a fancy nicholas course
My car was included I explained that to them they Still charged me 2 seats for her front 9 and back 9. $16.
So essentially, I paid $64 to write a golf cart. Because my golf cart was already paid for.
Not the first time Woodley has screwed me over. We'll be the last time. I play this mediocre beyond mediocre course.
Slow Play
1) Wanna Say I’m Not No Tiger Woods .. and I Know My Shot Abilities
2) I Didn't Care That There Were No Marshals on the Course to Speed Up These Losers In Front Of Us (2 Groups That Were Ahead …. They Kept Taking Mulligans because they Couldn’t Hit … here’s a clue (Take a Lesson or Go Practice on the Driving Range 1st)
3) The Group Ahead of Us Was Kinda the Same Way yet at the Turn (10th Hole) let us go ahead of them … only to catch up to the Kings OF Slow Play (One’s that kept taking Mulligans) When We Told them to keep up pace with the Group ahead their claim was they can hit them (250-300 yds ahead of them) They Couldn’t Hit the Broadside of a Barn… The furthest drive I saw out of them was like (140-165 yds) when they actually connected most of the time was below 100 yds..…
4) So, In Conclusion Woodley Lakes should only take you 3 1/2 hours to play.. not 4 1/2 -5 hours
Staff not too smart, very bass course conditions
No one at this course should be in the service industry. Slow and have zero common sense. Made me go back to end of line because my tee time was 10 min after guy in front of me. Also just very slow.
Course is very unkempt. No fairways. Just rough and higher rough. Course got better for a minute in the middle of summer and Joe’s it’s back to uncaring ways.
It's ok, nothing special
From Europe, visiting LA whilst on holiday I was looking for a round of golf locally. Unfortunately, contrary to Europe, their are few commercial courses in the LA region as all seem either private country clubs where you can't play without being invited, or alternatively, fairly basic municipal courses. This course is in the latter category and to be fair, it was easy to reserve a tee time and was not very expensive. The course was in good condition, with decent greens and grassy fairways, despite the very hot weather. The driving range was quite good too. The course itself is quite busy in the morning and the pace of play rather slow. I didn't find the location particularly attractive and don't think there was a nice clubhouse, serving lunch, but maybe I'm mistaken on this last point.
Below average experience
Good service was extremely slow for a golf course. Course conditions were below average, carts were run down
Great course for hackers
I hadn't played at Woodley Lakes for about a decade and I was surprised when my son picked it for his birthday golf game. He explained he was trying out new clubs and wanted a course that was very forgiving. Woodley Lakes is exactly that - wide fairways, no deep bunkers and few water hazards. It made for a fun three hours. We had a 4.30pm tee time and easily got round all 18 before dusk. The greens were in good condition but the rest of the course was patchy at best. We paid $68 for the round, which wasn't too bad - but this was with discounts. I would not have paid $20 more as it simply isn't worth it. There are much better public courses in the area, but this is a good course for hackers and those trying out new gear.
