High Caliber Golf Course

As a local we are happy that this course is on Golf Now at great rates because normally we can't afford their regular rates. This is one of the better golf courses in the area. The fairways were nice and wide for the most part but you do have a couple of force carry overs on the front nine. The golf pro (Steve) was very friendly. We got rained out on the back nine and Steve gave us a raincheck for nine holes. The only negatives were that the greens were rough but I guess that can be expected for this time of year and two singles started right behind our three some. We had to let the singes pass after we finished the second hole and most courses of this caliber that we have played on pair golfers or put golfers in a group. Don't know if they allow singles when they are busy later in the Spring or Summer but other than that this is a nice course and we plan to come back.

Great staff

The staff was get nice and professional. I loved the course for the Golf Now price. It's winter in the mountains, so the fairways were not great but I didn't have to wait at all. Great time for the money.

Why Didn't I Play This Course Before

Vacation up in Clayton twice a year and always played Kingwood. Kingwood decided to make their resort private (and have an empty golf course everyday), so I needed to find a new place to play. Wow, I should have been playing this course the last four years instead of Kingwood. The property is just amazing. The views make you forget about the ball you just drove into the woods. Excellent, fast greens even though it rained the day before. Can't imagine how fast and true they would be under normal conditions. Tee boxes, rough and fairways are in great shape. Some fun holes where you can place your drive over some trees to shorten the hole or make a smart shot. While the cost is pricey when compared to Florida summer rates (not apples to apples obviously), I felt it was worth it.

This Course has Everything

A beautiful course in a valley. Other than hole #1 you can hit a driver ( if accurate ) off every tee. The first 3-4 holes aren't amazing but it gets better and better after that. Pro shop is nice and clubhouse is great and all the fairways are in great condition and the greens are awesome. Not many holes are dead straight but if you can shape shots you can score pretty low here. Every hole has an amazing background to it. I paid $65 on a saturday afternoon and it was worth it. I believe it costs $50 during the week making it a steal. Putting and chipping green are very nice and they transfer to the course which i huge in my opinion. Driving range is small, no drivers. The fairways are rolled and look beautiful. Once you get to hole 8, you're in for some awesome awesome holes and some amazing views and some pretty difficult shots. I would love to see this course in the fall. Juts being on the green in 2 guarantees you nothing here. Put it close to the pin or a 3 putt is very possible. I played alone but my wife rode with me and we never stopped talking about how awesome the course was. I would recommend this course to anyone. Even though its in Georgia it plays just like a NC course, very tight off the tee. Plenty of hybrids and 3 irons off the tee unless you're feeling real good with the driver. GREAT PLACE. I will play it again.

Great mountain course

This is a beautiful course that takes good advantage of the natural terrain for both interesting golf holes and spectacular views. Even o a Sunday afternoon, course was sparsely populated making for a great pace of play.

Endearingly wicked

If this course weren't so beautiful, I would hate it. The layout and scenery are spectacular and playing when the leaves are turning is the biggest cherry on top you can imagine. That being said, the fairways were so soft that my well-hit drives were leaving deep ball marks and coming to rest behind the initial point of impact. Follow that up with the greens being the hardest (firmest) / fastest that I've played on in quite a while and you've got a wicked combination. Are these greens pristine and do they role true? Yes, but it's easy to be pristine when they've been rolled so hard that nothing can leave a ball mark. It's like chipping onto and putting on a hardwood floor. It's hard to find online but this course's slope ratings are 134 from the whites and 139 from the back... not nice. Fortunately for me, I don't really care that much about my score. If you can shake off a string of double bogeys and continue to enjoy one of Georgia's most beautiful courses for what it is, this course is a real treat that I highly recommend to you. If you're looking to massage your ego with respect to golf skills, this course is probably not for you.

Challenging course in a beautiful setting

Great course, challenging - especially the greens which were fast and a bit hard to read on the first playing.

The setting is awesome and was enhanced even more with the fall colors which were brilliant.

Not a mountain course, holes are mostly in valleys, but there are some holes with elevation changes.
