0 stars for pace of play
I know Harbor puts out 5 somes for each tee time but when their are 3 groups waiting on a par three there is something wrong. The group in front of us was extremely slow and few players shouldn’t have been playing the tees they were that day. It was long waits on every hole after number 2. And they should know better it’s not like they were newbies. But the group in front of them was 2 holes clear after that first par three. It should never take 2:57 to play 9 holes there. Not once did we see a marshal… number 6 is always backed up a bit but it was ridiculous. Harbor is great run usually but very disappointing with pace of play and no one there to enforce it.
Great 9 hole layout!
Love the layout for a 9 hole city course!
Challenging course and in excellent condition.
Only Half of Cart Rental?
All fair, except for the golf cart policy.
You only get half the golf cart and have to share with a stranger who paid for his half share of golf cart. Never heard of such policy at any other course.
It’s not like there was no other carts. Seen 4 or 5 carts just sitting there. SMH
Everything as usual. Good Exec course for the money.
Confusion with the starter
When I checked in with the first starter I was told that my reservation was not in their system. I pulled up my conformation email from my phone and fortunately a more senior starter was aware of the system flaw (a bug in the system) that apparently cancels reservation if tee time slot is less then 4; starter’s explanation.
I don't think that the first starter would have let us play even with the email confirmation on my phone. If so I would have been out my money because my credit card had already been charged.
This was the first time that I have ever encountered any problem with teeoff and I want to continue to recommend the use of teeoff to friends; please fix the bug.
Gem in Wilmington
Excellent course for the value. Challenging, fun, and fair at the sane time.
Do yourself a favor and play it at least once, but I am sure you will go back to play.
Best Value Golf in LA County
Best value golf in all of LA county. Course is kept in great condition and it’s not an easy course, yet not that challenging.
There are 2 par 5’s and 2 par 3’s. Greens roll true mostly.
I’d rather play a twilight round here for $12 than spend $15 or more for a large bucket.
Only downside is the pace of play. All groups are 5-somes, so that slows things down a bit.
Fun 9 hole in LA
There are very few 9 holes in LA with any variety.
Most are all par 3, 120-150 yards…
Here 5-6 out of the 9 holes are 350-400 yards so you can start off with driver or a hybrid etc.
The holes aren’t challenging but they’re fun and they’re well kept. Fun little gem of a 9 hole.
Nice 9 hole layout
Harbor has a nice mix of holes and the course was in good shape for being a LA city managed course. Only drawback was the course is allowing 5 somes so the pace of play is slow.
The course is in great shape
A fine course for a 9 hole outing; with option to walk or ride. Gave amenities only 2 stars as this part of the facility is currently under renovation. Look forward to seeing the results.
Love playing here.
Only suggestion, apply bug spray for the mosquitoes. The 7th and 8th hole are brutal in the twilight hours.
Review Re-play rules.
No problem with the course. The course rules regarding replays kind of stinks. My tee time was at 8:24am. I attempted to re-play at 10:50am -11ish and was placed second on the walk-up list. waited (3) hours through (3) shifts as the page for walk ups filled up and was put out of my misery by the last guy who came in at 3pm. At least he had the decency to tell me that the replay wasn't going to happen. On the bright side all of that practice time paid off. went over to Alondra and shot an 85.
The course is amazing, despite it’s poor staff
It was my first time going to Harvard Park to play around of 9 hole. When I enter the clubhouse, I was immediately asked to move my car from the parking lot as they were planning to close the parking lot early despite my tee time being in 35 minutes. I then had to move my car across another parking lot to park, which was very inconvenient.
I rented a car at 6:20 and was requested to return it by 8 PM which was almost impossible, due to the pace of play. After returning my cart, I headed back to the seventh hole to complete my round where we finished around 8:35pm. Unbeknownst to me both gates were closed and there were no exit, except a small hole in the fence which I and my party had to go through. I think it’s super unprofessional to have available 6pm teee items without allowing for the player to fully complete the course. Even though I was one of the later teetimes, they were two parties behind me and two in front, which had not finished. Because of this, I think this course is super inconvenient to play in the evening and I would not recommend.
