9 holes befroe a noon wedding

I had some time before attending a noon wedding in Aspen CO. I went to the course at 7:00 AM with the intention of playing nine holes. For $87 (nine hole rate) I was able to tee off at 7:30 and finish by 9:00. I was paired with friendly locals. This muni course is in beautiful condition (as you would expect for Aspen)
The layout is mostly flat surrounded by mature trees and mountains. This is the best Muni course I've played. the 18 hole rate for tourists is $150. A bit pricey. But you are in Aspen. What do you expect? It's only 2 miles from downtown.

Very very average

Overpriced. Will not play again. Nothing special about this layout. Did not feel welcomed as a visitor. Some staff was nice, but the others had this attitude like they were doing me a favor by letting me play at a Muni.

Fun but quirky!

The course was in great shape! Relatively short but fun. Its defense is its landing areas. Most landing areas were very narrow. Some holes have HARD dog legs that you need to have very specific yardages to be successful. Engage a local to play with! What you see off the tee is not necessarily what you get. Greens were in very good shape and fast. Lots of undulations, too. Pro shop small but adequate. Staff very friendly. I would definitely play it again. (Hellacious Views!!!)

High Elevation Flat Course

At almost 8000 ft. above sea level this will take some getting used if you walk. Even at this altitude it plays every bit of its almost 6500 yards from the mens regular tees. The greens were very vexing to me and even to the local players I was paired up with. The scenery is impressive.
