Plum Creek Golf & Country Club
About
Legendary golf architects Pete Dye and Perry Dye designed the 18-hole, private course at Plum Creek Golf and Country Club, located in Castle Rock. Opened in 1984, the golf course features 7,044 yards of golf from its championship tees, playing to a par of 72. Dye included various different challenges in this golf course, causing some locals to say that it possesses some of the most difficult holes in the state. The hilly terrain of the well-bunkered course causes many uneven lies. Water hazards also come into play on some holes. Plum Creek Golf and Country Club boasts beautiful views of Castle Rock and the Rockies.

Improving but not there yet!
Plum Creek is certainly in better shape than the last time I played it a few years ago. I have always enjoyed the layout since I was a member back in the 90's. However, I am spoiled with sub 4 hour rounds at my home club and yesterday took 5 hours to play. We waited numerous times on the tee - sometimes as long as 10 -12 minutes. I would suggest playing the course when it is not full if that is ever possible.
Pace of play and green conditions or two good reasons to skip this course
I’ve played this course three times, and the pace of play for a semi private course is ridiculous. The first round was five hours and 40 minutes and the second round we gave up after nine because we were already into it for three hours 10 minutes.
Many of the greens look like they’ve been hit by landmines, again, surprisingly poor conditions for what is supposed to be a semi private course.
Was also disappointed that we did not receive prior notice that our day of play was cartpath only
5 hour and 40 min round of golf
4 some in front of us were incredibly slow, adding to the fact the course was cart path only because of rain prior day. Asked to play through and was denied. Talked to ranger, he committed to increasing pace of play with no results.

With the work being done on the course right now Plum Creek will be one of Colorados top courses next year.
Keep up the good work!
New Plum Creek
A great Pete Dye layout getting some much needed improvements this season.
