Plum Creek Golf & Country Club
About
Legendary golf architects Pete Dye and Perry Dye designed the 18-hole, private course at Plum Creek Golf and Country Club, located in Castle Rock. Opened in 1984, the golf course features 7,044 yards of golf from its championship tees, playing to a par of 72. Dye included various different challenges in this golf course, causing some locals to say that it possesses some of the most difficult holes in the state. The hilly terrain of the well-bunkered course causes many uneven lies. Water hazards also come into play on some holes. Plum Creek Golf and Country Club boasts beautiful views of Castle Rock and the Rockies.

Nice shape but...
The course was in overall good shape but they had aerated their greens and still charged full rates. To pay $60 for a course and no mention of that is not acceptable. I understand courses need to do this but you should not charge a standard rate.
Well worth driving to play
Challenging and a fun course to play. I will be back.
Check course conditions
Call ahead for course condition updates. I saw that Golfnow allows courses to share whether or not they have recently aerated with a BIG "A" on the offering. Plum Creek prefers not to use this option. I wish Golfnow could require facilities to provide this info before booking. Maybe offer an additional discount at check in if they do not fairly represent their course condition.
Needs work
Course condition was poor. The tee boxes were not easily identifiable and the rental clubs were a mismatched set of very low quality.
Over Priced
One of the most expensive courses in 40 mile area and in rough to bad shape. Range balls cost the most i ever paid. Most of the tee boxes were solid sand with no grass. There was weeds on a few greens. The staff was helpful and friendly though. Its no wonder this course went bankrupt. I am glad i got to play there once so i can avoid it forever and warn others too.
Great course for the value
Greens were in great shape.
Challenging pin placements
Fun course in great condition
We had a lot of fun playing this course. Played on a friday morning and never waited at a single tee box. Course was in perfect condition which was surprising so early in the season.
Only complaint was that two of the maintenance crew, both riding lawnmowers, basically followed us around the course and were anything but invisible. There were times when one of them would drive in between me and my ball as I was walking up to it. The guy on the back (we started on 10 so really the front) was regularly within 10 yards of the person shooting with the engine going. No patience, and we played in less than 4 hours.
Other than The Lawnmower Man it was a great experience!
good course
Sometimes I was play by myself this course. Always I met good player's. And I enjoyed my golf.
Course are not busy ever times, I love it.And good courses good price.
Very disappointed
For a course that used to be TPC, this course has declined into a sad shell of what it used to be. We plaed on a Sunday, and were behind a foursome that had a five-some in front of them. Really? On a weekend? Who is sending these groups out? The clubhouse is in poor condition. The paint is chipping, the concrete is cracked throughout the parking lot and car paths. The golf carts are very old. Everytime we put on the break, the back left wheel locked up and caused the cart to skid. When we turned in the cart and told the guy at the clubhouse he came up with a lame excuse about "their horses being old and ridden hard". Huh? The fairways and greens were dry and brown and in poor condition. I know we played in March, but we've played other coursed like spring Valley, and they were in much better shapr that this course. It is obvious that the owner just doesn't have the money to keep this course in good shape. It is sad. The weather wasn't the best (30 mph winds) and that combined with the slow play and the five-some in front of us, we through in the towel after 12 holes. We asked for a raincheck for the back 9 and were declined. Really? I won't be going back to this course. Don't waste your time. There are other courses that have good deals that are much more fn to play and much better cared for. Sad.....
falling apart
It's for sale the carts are old and wore out starter even said they were 2 years overdue on carts. They all locked up the brakes and mine wasnt the only one that ran out of juice before the last hole
Best value course in Colorado
Awesome course that is under rated. Pete Dye design that is challenging but keeps you coming back for more. The club house and parts of the course are run down but made up for in overall design.
It's a shame
The course was once a TPC, nice club house, has been let go and is no longer well kept. New owner is not making necessary improvements. I'm concerned that it won't last much longer.
Great layout, challenging course, greens hard but fast and true
Very challenging Pete D\ye course with very good greens, although hard to hold in fall conditions. Greens true and fast.
The cart paths, and tee boxes etc are not being kept in great condition, but for the most part that does not affect play.
Great Pete Dye layout needs new owners.
Challenging fun layout. Maintenance lacking as current owners in bankruptcy. Somebody who cares needs to buy this course!!
Course is in good condition for late October
Greens are in great shape. It's a great course to play during the week...., easy to get a tee time on short notice.
Pretty course, but needs alot of maintenance.
Tight course designed by Pete Dye. Target golf on many holes. The driving range was a joke, but the course was in good shape, especially the greens. We enjoyed the course which was challenging. The facilities are in poor shape - signage at holes, buildings, cart paths, practice areas. The views of Castle Rock and mountain ranges were nice.
A no frills course.
Not for the high handicapper as there are blind spots that make finding wayward balls a challenge, for a capper at 90 or under then it is an ok to average course. The holes that have water in play are a challenge that pays for the confident player and one of the aspects to this course that makes it enjoyable.
My warm up and practice was intruded on by workman having to do maintenance on the putting green while i was using it and i still had 15 minutes left before i was due to start play.
The driving range does not have clear range distances so for any player trying to get a feel for lengths with their clubs may find that unhelpful.
Great value.
VERY nice course at a reasonable rate. Friendly, helpful staff. Country Club type atmosphere.
Nice challenging course with great views
First time playing this course. I liked it because it has some challenging holes and greens. The course itself is still in pretty decent condition, despite some of the bad reviews. It would help if everyone did their part to repair their divots on the greens and fairways. The cart paths got bad reviews---just drive around the bad parts---pretty simple. The only knocks about the course are no water stations or ball washers. Take your own water and a wet towel and you're good to go.
this course has a great features, i like it,
I will bring some friends to play here i love it,
this course has a great features, see ya soon,
