Work in Progress
Very nice course layout. Lots of character and diversity. As noted by others new owners are in the process of restoring most of the fairway bunkers which are just overgrown trash. Free lift all around. Presuming thos gets done soon I will definitely be back, although an $85 fee is a bit steep.
Not worth the fees right now.
This course has been nice in the past. The greens have a lot of un repaired divots and the sand traps are more like weed traps. They should only be charging about half for those reasons.
The FROG 8–20-2023
Haven’t been here in like 10 years —- mainly because an $80 round is too pricey for me.
Decided to play there since I haven’t been in so long.
What a mistake.
The course is in shambles overall. The bunkers are the worst I’ve ever seen.
The fairways and greens were OK.
NO WAY IS THIS PLACE WORTH $80
Go play Cobblestone for that kind of $$.
What a shame
I used to live in West Georgia and have played the frog over 25 times. I had not been back until yesterday and it was painful to see that the owners had let this beautiful golf course get in the worst shape of any golf course I have played in the last 20 years. The awesome fairway bunkers that lined the course are now just overgrown weeds that haven’t been touched all year. The tee boxes were completely burn up. The cart paths are too rough to drive on and the place just is in over dreadful shape. I am not sure what is going on out there but don’t waste your time or money driving out there, you will be disappointed. I will never go back.
Excellent Layout Course Turf Green Conditions
Best in class for many years. I will give allowance for bunker renovations obviously underway...free drop gur ! When finished, course will be back to full premier golf status.
Great day of golf and our 820 twosome finished in 3 1/2 hours with less than 10 minutes waiting on 4x ahead.
No beverage cart service even with 90 heat. Pack a cooler !
Bar grill service after was quite nice for a lunch.
Nice layout, needs work and high prices
Course layout’s nice but the bunkers are a mess (but being worked on). No water in the coolers and it was 96 degrees in the shade! More like a $30 muni track than an $85 club course. Won’t be back at those rates.
The course went from a resort course to a goat ranch!!
The course was in horrible shape…I played the Frog a couple of years ago…thought I was going to play the beautiful resort course but the experience was so disappointing. The bunkers were filled with overgrowth weeds…the fairway was peppered with crab grass & weeds…the car paths were buckling & loose concrete slabs…the creeks were murky and muddy. And the cost to play the Frog was not worth it at all!
TLC Needed
I have played the Frog numerous times over the years. It has always been fun to play, but the conditions of the course surprise me.
The greens are great, but someone needs to teach a class on why and how to fix a ball mark.
I understand it is under new ownership, but for the condition and location of the course, it is overpriced.
I will be back checking to see if things are changing, hopefully for the better..
Use to be great course
I don't mind so much that they haven't maintained the course well if the cost reflected that. Still the greens are in good shape.
