Pine Creek Golf Club
About
Pine Creek Golf Course is part of the La Plata Communities in Colorado Springs. The course winds through the Pine Creek Valley, providing a lush and varied landscape. The course sprawls across high plains grasslands with abundant trees and lakes coming into play throughout. The seemingly gentle terrain has tricky undulations that total over 375 feet of elevation changes. The front is a canyon-style nine while the back is more of an American links design. There are creek beds coming into play on nearly every hole as well as strategically placed bunkers. In addition to the challenging round, the golf course offers stunning views of Pikes Peak, the Front Range, and the entire Colorado Springs skyline. At Pine Creek there is also a unique elevated, target-oriented grass driving range, a practice green, and a short game area.

A heavy frost covered the vegetation as the maintenance crews blew out the sprinkler system as we played. This is the tee box of # 11. Photo submitted by skibumcolorado on 11/21/2013
Course conditions and bathrooms
Spent the 4th of July at Pine Creek Golf course. There were some disappointing moments. First off the men and ladies restrooms were extremely dirty. The outdoor facilities unusable!! Even the clubhouse restrooms were gross.
Course feedback: The overall course condition was poor was mediocre at best. There were many holes where tee markers did not exist.
For the price you pay to play there- we were extremely underwhelmed.
Hot Deal only…
It fine for $65 but no way is it worth the $88 reg price! Tee boxes were torn up and some fairways but green were in ok condition.
Course is tough but fair
Enjoyed the course, but it played very slow due to a shotgun start tournament played earlier.
Back nine played at a very nice pace. Joined a threesome on the back nine whom I enjoyed playing with very much. Course will be fantastic in a few weeks after growing out of the winter transition. Will definitely play again!
Absolutely terrible.
Nowhere was safe.
Tee boxes, fairways & greens were all in HORRIBLE shape.
It's like they simply don't water the place.
Especially for the price - DON'T GO
This is a nicely laid out course with stunning views
Early May and the course is still in poor condition(it was windy and cold am). Talked to local and says it was a hard winter and still haven’t had a lot of warm weather. Lots of brown grass and dirt patches,, even on fairways, with hard ground and Greens in poor shape and hard ground. Had some balls take some crazy bounces. I’m sure it will get better soon, All that said it is a well laid out course, good challenges with stunning views. If in area again, would definitely play.
What Happened to this course
Amazing course layout. Terrible conditions. Way to expensive. Best to play King's Deer or go to Pueblo.
This is a shame. Used to be the best in the area. Breaks many hearts
Horrendous Waste of Resources
Once a great lay out and beautifully maintained track now it’s in shambles. The staff just don’t give a you know what. This gorgeous place is totally trashed by this current management. And they have the audacity to charge $91 for one of the worst conditioned courses I’ve ever set feet on. And I have been on all kinds of crazy courses in my life. It’s a shame they did this to the course. Don’t go! The bar service was just as bad. The girl flirted with three non golfers drinking at the bar all the while we were trying to get out seconds rounds. Finally gave up had to bring the bill to the bar to get noticed. Just terrible day all around.
Sad to see
This course had been nice for so many years. It is in horrible shape. Not one bunker was playable. Greens were rolling at a 7-8 speed. Multiple holes with soggy fairways.
I love this layout but it’s sad to see it in the shape
Super slow play
I play Pine Creek 10-12 times a season and I can definitely say it has never been as slow as it is now. The last four rounds were all around 4 and a half hours. Today it took a full 5 hours to complete the round. Lots of factors come into play here. High handicappers playing the wrong tees, groups taking too long looking for balls, marshals not pushing groups properly and the beer carts seem to show up at just the wrong time. The course is in fair condition with some of the tee boxes in rough shape.
The Best Public Course In Colorado Springs
A must play whether you live here or are just visiting! I've played at Pine Creek about a dozen times per year since the early 90's and I still think it's the best Public Course in the Colorado Springs area. It’s fun and challenging with a good layout and always in very good condition. Each hole is unique with plenty of native rough defining the fairways and greens, and amazing views of Pikes Peak from almost every hole. Choose your tees carefully, unless you’re a strong single digit handicapper with your A-game dialed in, you should never play the back (gold) tees. You’ll get tested plenty from the blue or white tees and still have a few 'coulda' 'shoulda' 'woulda' stories to tell your friends on the 19th hole. I Played on the last day of November and the course was still in great shape.
