Eighteen Hole at South Suburban Golf Course
About
The Eighteen Hole Golf Course is one of two courses at the South Suburban Golf Course facility, the other being a par-3, nine hole course. Both courses were designed by renowned golf architect Richard Phelps who designed a number of golf courses in Colorado. These public courses opened in 1973. The Eighteen Hole Course is 6,790 yards from its longest tees and plays to a par of 72. The course is fairly open and its greens are undulating, but overall the course is relatively flat. The course is well-maintained and easy to walk. Water hazards come into play on some holes and there are also sand bunkers.

You’re GOLFNOW!
This is probably the third or fourth time I’ve gone through this here, and it seems to be getting worse . The staff seems to have a problem with people who book on golf now! They pair you up with their regular customers and then when they call your tee time they like to announce that you booked on golf now! It’s actually quite hilarious! If you use golf now and want to feel like a second rate customer , book this course! I’m surprised they don’t have special carts for their golf now customers with flashing neon signs that say second rate golfer!
1st Time, Probably Last Time
Challenging, but fair course from tee to green. But the greens are pretty difficult for the average golfer due to severe sloping and undulations. The pace was bordering on mind-numbingly slow, but that may have just been a random occurrence.
I can now say that I played the course, but I do not have a desire for another round there.
Tee boxes a little long
Love this course! Tee box grass needs to be cut as well as a few fairways. Could be the Arian we had kept the mowers off the course. Greens not as tough as usual. If you think you're putting well play this course I'm late June....
If you think your putting well, your probably not.
If you think you're putting well, go play south suburban! Toughest greens in the metro area if not the state. Good condition for the time of year. Very friendly staff and AWESOME new clubhouse!! It's a must play!
Yours truly,

Good, moderate course with challenging greens
This has been on my list to play for a bit. The greens have a reputation for being the primary defenses of the course. Sure enough, this proved accurate. One of the staff told me the greens here are rated the 2nd hardest in the state, second to Bear Dance.
Perhaps the iffy forecast and it being a Monday early in the spring led to a hard-to-turn-down price that got me out in the playable weather window. The large bucket for the range turned out to be a lot of golfballs to warm-up with, more than I could use, so a couple young golfers out for their first golfing experience got a bonus. I probably should have warmed-up with more significant putting given it was my first time here. Playing these fairly sloped greens really emphasizes trying to stay below the hole, if at all possible. Still, it's a fair challenge, at least at this time of the year.
The length at 6683 yards max (5328 min) and the forgiving layout/conditions in early spring probably explains some of the popularity among us average-ish golfers. Deals tend to get gobbled up here. The course was in pretty good shape despite the really dry winter we've had. FWIW, there is a par 3 course to add a few more holes to those who didn't get their fill with 18. Also, this course is quite walkable, <4 hours at a fairly leisurely pace.
The clubhouse renovations looks great. Nice job.
It's worth returning here.
The greens are crazy but fun!
The course overall is very fast, and the practice putting area is really fast. The course greens were not as fast but very fast with lots of slope. This makes for cautious and careful puts, but I really enjoy that more than large flat surfaces. I played in the afternoon and it was windy for a while on the front, then the pace of play picked up on the back and the wind stopped. A great day golfing.
Beautiful course
Fun to play but greens are extremely sloped and can ruin a good round. I’m surprised something hasn’t already been done to try and flatten the greens.
Great Course
It’s been a few years since I’ve played SS. The new layout works (front & back nine are flipped, although 9 & 18 haven’t change). The new clubhouse is really nice. The only negative (which has always been the case) are a couple “unfair greens”. If I hit a 30’ putt it shouldn’t roll back to me. They REALLY need to make the greens on holes 5 and 13 two tiered, there’s just too much slope.
