About
Formerly a cornfield, Robert Trent Jones Jr. utilized the natural area and the import of over 600,000 cubic yards of dirt to create the challenging Ute Creek Golf Course. The championship course has a traditional links-style layout that is said to challenge even the most avid of golfers. The public, 18-hole golf course offers 7,167 yards from its longest tees, playing to a par of 72. It features several water hazards, especially on the back nine holes, with five lakes situated on the course and two streams that wind through it. Ute Creek Golf Course's well-bunkered greens and undulating, multi-level fairways provide more interesting elements to the game.

Great value and challenging layout
Played here today and was paired up with another random single and we ended having an amazing day with pace of play being pretty decent especially for a 2 ball playing behind a 4 ball. The course layout is super fun and definitely has plenty of guards to keep those par 5s three shot holes. The course was in awesome condition and even though there are lots of bunkers they where well maintained even after the heavy rain the past few days. The greens rolled about as true as they could while traveling through the mine field of divots that comes with any municipal course in Colorado. All around probably a strong 4/5 for me on any of the week days. Weekends are at your own discretion. 😃

Bunkers on bunkers on bunkers
Solid course in great shape. The layout and footprint of the course aren't anything out of the ordinary. Especially given the elevation, 7198 yards from the tips is playable and there are five sets of tees to pick from.
Ute Creek doesn't have notable elevation changes, a large number of trees, tons of water hazards or tight OBs but it does have sand...
Every single hole on the course aside from No. 3 has bunkers, and many have a smattering. The par 5 7th hole has 6 bunkers, all of which are enormous. At times going bunker to bunker feels like a given. That being said all of the bunkers were extremely well maintained and the entire course was in excellent shape.
The greens were fast but true and the carts all have pin sheets. 6 pin locations is more than I have ever seen but I can't complain.
Pace of play was fine. We finished just over four hours and the marshal made more than a handful of loops around the course.
All in all a fun course that isn't super challenging if you can stay out of the bunkers, and a great value for anyone in the area.

Slow pace of play
Pace was 4 hours 50 minutes. Staff was friendly but was not effective in moving groups that were visibly out of position.

improve your game
The hazards are a mix of sand, water, undulating fairways, lengthy holes and large greens make it a great value. Mountain vistas cap it all off.

Fun yet requires shot making
Very walkable course with variations of holes that require strategic shots as well as holes that you can go after. Would add it to my regular rotation of courses.

Golf course
It’s a great golf course but dealing with Golf Pass is a pain. You have to prepay. We typically have 8-12 of us. If you’re forced to pay for everyone to ride and half of them walk it’s difficult to get reimbursed. We avoid it unless we can call the golf course and get tee times directly. Who wants to get charged for 8 golfers and then have them give you cash to pay you back? Most people use debit or credit cards. Get rid of golf pass is my suggestion.
Fun course, great value
A friend's dad recommended Ute Creek and it was a pleasant surprise. Everyone in the pro shop and grill were extremely friendly. There wasn't a ton of elevation which made it very easy to walk (push carts were available to check out). I thought it was a fun and fair course. Not a ton of water but a decent number of bunkers, some of them quite large which added to the level of difficulty. The conditions were wonderful and the views of the mountains is always nice. The back nine is three 3s, three 4s and three 5s which I personally like a lot. I'd definitely play this course again.

The course is in great shape. It has a lot of fun holes and I enjoyed the challenging quick greens. Very nice staff, which made it enjoyable to be there. Slow play. Had to leave the course to catch a flight after getting through hole 13 in four hours.
