so bad
This management was worst in Colorado.
The day I and my wife played this course, it was rain I wanted rain check but they refused first time. I asked one more time they gave only half. I and my wife play only till 3 holes.
What's with the putts???
The course was down right beautiful. Country club course through the trees and houses, very nicely laid out. People from they guy that checked me in to the starter were very friendly, and the two guys I was paired up with knew the course and we had a good time.
The thing with this course is not how far, or where water/sandtraps are located...it's the green. None of the three of us had anything close to a single putt. It wasn't due to the greens being in bad condition, it's being on the slopes built into the green. Learned really quickly to stay fairway side of the greens as that typically leaned towards an uphill putt.
If you are looking for a "sensible" 36 holes with different styles of play, I would suggest this course with the links style "King's Deer" next door (less that 10 miles away.
Trees
Fun course with lots of trees. Hit the ball with control or find yourself dodging trees, like me. Fairways are in great shape and greens are good, and mostly fast.
Beautiful Course
Course was very beautiful. Starter was great, very friendly. Course itself was not that challenging, but putting will definitely put up a challenge. Greens were lightning fast and rough was deep (but playable).
Partner this course with Kings Deer next door...you could easily play 36 holes in a day.
1st time on course
greens hard to read for a flatlander. Well maintained
Great Deal even if you drive from Denver
tree lined course proved to be a good challenge for the first time out. There are some blind tee shots to some tight doglegs. You must hit the ball straight off of the tee, or it'll be a long day!Greens are receptive and roll well. I'd like to see more yardage markers. Great value on the hot deal!
good deal, good course, good experience. would recommend.
It's a private course that allows some outside play, so go for it. good Press Maxwell design from the 1960s.
Fun round at Monument
Decently maintained, tree lined course proved to be a good challenge for the first time out. There are some blind tee shots to some tight doglegs. You must hit the ball straight off of the tee, or it'll be a long day!Greens are receptive and roll well. I'd like to see more yardage markers. Great value on the hot deal!
3 hour front nine
Foursome in front of us were blind to the fact we were waiting 10 minutes for each shot while they rudely took 3 hours to play 9 holes. They stood watching on the 10th tee as we drove around them and played the last 8 holes in one hour. Never playing there again on the off chance they happen to be there.
Fun road trip
Drove down from Denver for an early afternoon round. I had heard mixed reviews but course was very playable. Greens were better than putting green. Fun course...harder than yardage might indicate. Matt was helpful in the shop....overall a good experience. I would go back.
Fun road trip
First time for me...others in my group had played here before.I had read a few sketchy reviews but our group decided to drive down from Denver. Course was in good shape....greens were quite a bit better than the putting green.Tees were a little ragged but that's a minor thing. We enjoyed our day, slightly interrupted by a thunderstorm. It's tricky no doubt but definitely worth the time and travel. We'll be back
Monument Hill is a great Course..
I showed up early to play by my self and they let me go off early. I played through 3 different groups and all where very friendly about it. All the staff were friendly and happy. Didn't have a country club additude from the staff other players or grounds keepers.
TIGHT & FAIR
WOODED FAIRWAYS THAT ARE TIGHT. NEED TO DRIVE WELL. GREENS IN GREAT CONDITION. REWARDS A GOOD SHOT & WILL PENALIZE A POOR SHOT. A FUN & BEAUTIFUL COURSE.
Great Afternoon
The only complaint had to do with soft conditions on some of the fairways.
Nothing that the staff could do about it, but with all of the rain that has been falling in the area, there are some areas of the course that seem to be "soggy" with water (which may be normally dry springs -- but with all the rain are no longer dry...).
Anyhow, if you can manage the tight landing areas off the tee, this course should reward some great scores (I rarely did).
Great time with son and grandson
This is a good target type course, good shape with all the rain that we have had.
Fun to play
Fun course challenging but really fun. One of the best rounds I've played. Great greens the fairways were in great shape can't wait to play again
The curse has Great setting in trees
The course is in pretty good condition. ..Some of fairways need some attention. Drainage. Lack of grass...carts have sand bottles..However no sand in them.
overall..A fine golf course...friendly employees...Thanks
UPDATE!!
This course looks and feels very old! Cart paths are not paved, very bumpy. Course has drainage issues and no water. Would not play here again!
Good course
For the value we paid on golfnow, it was a great value. The course was in very good condition and they offer free range balls to warm up!
The course itself is very narrow, fairly short, and technically challenging. Long hitters have little advantage here. Bring an extra sleeve of balls.
