Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills - Gold Course
The Gold Course from Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills is the only 18-hole course at the facility. Designed by Frank Hummel, the course opened in 1959 and used to include the 9 holes of the Blue Course as the front nine. Currently however, both the Gold and the Blue are separate courses. The landscape of the Gold is hilly and seven ponds create a beautiful atmosphere while also adding challenging water hazards to eleven holes. Although the entire course is scenic, the 12th hole is considered to have the most picturesque views. Its elevated tee offers gorgeous vistas of the majestic Rocky Mountains. Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills is known not only for its gorgeous scenery, it has also received acclaim from golf publications such as Golf Digest.

Golf Advisor: Top Courses in Colorado
Nice course, but rated low due to the geese.
This is a nice course-reasonably well maintained and generally fun to play. Unfortunately, this is offset by the numbers of geese on the course. It's beyond a nuisance. There is so much goose excrement that it's becoming unsanitary.
We'd bought a book of passes for greens fees, but wound up not using all of them. We won't be playing here again until management does something about the numbers of geese.
I would rate the course higher except for that.
Solid all around
Nice range, though would like to see more flags/targets to hit to. Golf course is interesting and fun. You have to think about every shot. Driver not needed often if you are a relatively long hitter. Not that the course is short, you are just better off placing the ball in the correct spots. Course is in good shape and was great value for the GolfNow hot deal that I got.
Decent Course - Better Options in Denver Available
-Pace of play for an early afternoon tee time was fantastic
-Nice mix of holes
-Course condition was definitely below average compared to other similarly priced courses in the Denver Metro Area (Riverdale, Murphy Creek, etc) . The fairways need a fair amount of work.
-Greens were pretty slow/inconsistent
If the course was in better shape, I would definitely be back as the pace of play was fantastic for a Sunday afternoon. Not a bad deal for the price, but there's just too many courses in the metro area that are in much better shape to justify returning.
The Gold Course
Hyland Hills Gold course is a challenging, but doable course, even for shorter hitters. The greens were in excellent shape, especially given the extreme heat conditions in Colorado this summer. The fareways have not fared as well; they were in rough (no pun intended) shape in places. The grounds crew were out in force though sometimes not aware that golfers were coming towards them.
Classic design, excellent maintenance
Excellent course and value, classic design except for holes #17 & #18, where they appear to have run out of room. Also, some of the tee boxes were difficult to find -need more signs.
Great course no amenities
This was my first time and they should have told me that the 9th hole didn’t go back to clubhouse we called there number for a cart girl but no one answered the phone and the hut on number nine was closed I was hungry by then and had to wait til I finished my round
This course has a fun layout
This was my first time playing here and I loved it! Beautiful holes and a good challenge. I played my best round of the year here!
ok, nothing special
have played a lot of local courses this spring, and thanks to the heavy rains a month or so ago, most are in great shape. This one, not so much. It was only fair - greens so-so and fairways spotty - and combined with a laregly dull layout, the course is nothing to get excited about. Still, pace of play was great and the price was pretty good, so on balance, sure, check it out.
4.5 out of 5 stars
Everything was perfect until a worker in a golf cart pulled up to us in the 16th and said we needed to pick up our pace. We were on pace for a four hour round on a Sunday at a nicer course. That is expected. There were people in front of us but we were not trying to play too close behind them to keep pace. Other than that, great course conditions and a great round.
Can not give an accurate review—-extremely high winds,
Forced us to quick early Tuesday
Great day to play.
Great weather that day. Calm and around 70 degrees. Course was in good shape.
No issues checking in. Staff was nice.
There were multiple grounds crew teams out working which we had to wait on for a couple of holes but no real problem - the crews had the course well maintained.
Have played this course many times and always enjoyed. Multiple options to play - the Gold course, the Blue course, and the Par 3 courses. The putting green and practice facilities are nice.
Also the club house is very nice to eat and drink.
