The Gold Course from Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills is the only 18-hole course at the facility. Designed by Frank Hummel, the course opened in 1959 and used to include the 9 holes of the Blue Course as the front nine. Currently however, both the Gold and the Blue are separate courses. The landscape of the Gold is hilly and seven ponds create a beautiful atmosphere while also adding challenging water hazards to eleven holes. Although the entire course is scenic, the 12th hole is considered to have the most picturesque views. Its elevated tee offers gorgeous vistas of the majestic Rocky Mountains. Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills is known not only for its gorgeous scenery, it has also received acclaim from golf publications such as Golf Digest.

Gold course is in great shape

I’ve played here many times, and with all of the rain during May, the conditions were great. Grounds staff has done a great job of keeping the rough from getting too overgrown.

Long holes and fast greens

Had a great time playing Hyland Hills Gold course. Lots of long holes. I was able to play my driver most of the day. Very nice features including an island hole on the back 9 and a massive cottonwood in the fairway on the back 9. Restrooms were conveniently located, and they even have a snack shack out on the course if you get hungry. The price for drinks are in the low to moderate range and the staff was very friendly.

Thanks! Had a great time!

Could be better

This course always seems packed and not staffed enough to manage it especially for a busy holiday

Rough is too tall for a public course

I enjoyed the layout of the course, however for a public golf course the rough is too tall for an amateur player, I have a single digit handicap it was difficult for me, , my partners all high handicap players and it was next to impossible for them to play from the rough, in fact I had them move the ball to the fairway so we could enjoy our round more. Additionally, because of the height of the rough we spent way too much time looking for our balls and, in several instances, we could not find them, and we noticed other groups having the same issue.

Great value

Good, fun course with fair greens fees. My biggest complaint is the 18th hole layout needs to be fixed. The rest of the course is fine but the 18th hole is so quirky. Either trim some of the trees down the left or open it up more to the right.
