Great Deal
10 bucks for 18 holes and a cart here? Of course I'll do that. Very fun course. Course has been in better condition, but for that price I'm not going to complain. Will definitely play again.
Challenging Goat track with friendly staff.
We read some other reviews before deciding to play here. It sounded good, but when you arrive it doesn't look like a nice golf course, but it is scenic. The staff was friendly and they do offer a military discount. The range is terrible. Balls are ancient and you can't hit anything more than a hybrid. The course is very difficult if you don't hit it straight. Greens were slow, but true. If you are outside the first cut, you may not find your ball on many holes. Lots of hazards. The course is at about 8500', so the ball flies a long way! If you are a high handicapper, play the short tees and hit it strait.
Great staff and course
This is a great place beautiful view of pike on the front 9. The course fair ways are in good shape, the greens are in better shape than most course's that I have played in Colorado Springs. I've played here about 4 time now and for the price and the friendliness of the staff its been worth it
Fun course
Tight fairways and undulated greens make for a fun day.All staff was very friendly and helpful. Would play again when in the area.
Great mountain course for the money
The driving range is small, can't hit drivers. The fairways are in good condition and the greens should be in great shape come first week of June. The course is clean, fairways are narrow, and greens were moderately challenging. This is definitely a course for accuracy and long bombers won't benefit as well as those who can hit straight or control shot shape. There wasn't any crowding, and it is a hike if you are walking. The sprinklers came on at 8 p.m., so use caution if you're planning to play until dusk. Bring plenty of balls -- the rough gobbles them up. In all, I found the $21 per round a good value. Would pay as high as $30.
Shining Mountain review
Course was really in good shape considering it's still early season for a mountain course. Fairways were in good shape, greens were definitely sandy but that's to be expected this time of year. My advice is go play this course if you get the opportunity.
Beautiful landscape and challenging fairways
Shining Mountain has a very challenging layout, tight fairways, and incline/decline grades for every approach shot. I really enjoy playing this course and highly recommend the pulled pork sandwich!
Course was unforgivng but beautiful
I enjoyed playing. I would really like to go back when the course is green as it is the beginning of spring and they're change in the seasons are always behind the rest of the state.
Pretty & casual - nice mountain course.
I have played this course since it opened. They have had some ups and downs, but it has never looked better than the summer of 2012. It is a good value, especially if you book online. Cory is the most helpful guy in the pro shop. If you are bogey player like me, take a few extra balls.
Wonderful mountain course
All the reasons you play a mountain course; scenery, challenge, elevation...and value. Will play here again - worth the drive and the fees.
