Richter Park Golf Course
About
Situated at the heart of Fairfield County, Richter Park Golf Course is situated along the West Lake Reservoir. The course has been ranked among not only the top ten golf courses in Connecticut but also as one of the top 25 public courses in the country. The course sprawls across more than 180 acres of gently rolling hills. Water has a prominent presence throughout, with the Reservoir bordering seven holes on the front nine and water hazards coming into play on a total of 14 holes. In addition to the water, there are a variety of elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic, which can make it a tough golf course to play your first time. Be prepared for a few blind shots. Richter Park's signature hole, the par-5 12th, is bordered by Boggs Pond. Your third shot will be over water to a bunkered green.

Course was good the T boxes alittle annoying had humps wasn’t flat but it’s the beginning of the season which we alll understood. The guy in pro shop when we checked in was very nice friendly the restaurant after the round was also awesome it was just the T boxes which was the problem but like I said it’s the beginning of the season and next time we play there it will be much better. But absolutely I and the guys that were in my party will be back to play here again
The course was in very good condition, staff was very friendly.
Pace of play
It took FIVE HOURS to play this round. The foursome that was 2 groups ahead of us had three holes open in front of them. There was a ranger cruising around the course, but he apparently didn’t say anything to the foursome. Very frustrating.
Thank you
Great staff, Course was in great shape; sandy as the rain was coming which put the staff into high gear with the prep of the course and greens.
Very nice track
Not a negative thing to say. Play and you will ser
Nice afternoon
The course was green and well maintained. Very nice experience overall
Overall Great just some drainage problems on back nine
I’ll start by saying this is an amazing public facility, the front nine was stunning and magnificent with most holes bordering the lake on that side of the road, once you cross the road into the woods the course clearly has some issues with drainage, 3 fairways were in bad shape but I don’t know if there’s anything they can do they are low lying and collecting water and recieve limited sunlight. Dont let this stop you going there, people were amazing, from
The starter Frank to the cart girl Brianna it’s a great place to golf and they had rangers out and we played in 4 hours on a holiday weekend
Richter 2023
Great layout. I’m originally from Danbury and am in my 50’s so I was around when Richers was pristine.
In recent years I’ve heard some negativity but had no negative experiences this time. I don’t play there often as I’ve moved away but the last two times past two years has been fine.
Fantastic layout, best around, scenic, etc. Although last time I was unimpressed with the attitude of the Bossman informing the Pro shop how there were no rain checks. I understand the policy, but interpersonal behavior should be a higher priority in my view.
None of that this time but only dealt with teen in pro shop and starter. Both very pleasant.
Good to see rangers on the course as well.
