Richter Park Golf Course
About
Situated at the heart of Fairfield County, Richter Park Golf Course is situated along the West Lake Reservoir. The course has been ranked among not only the top ten golf courses in Connecticut but also as one of the top 25 public courses in the country. The course sprawls across more than 180 acres of gently rolling hills. Water has a prominent presence throughout, with the Reservoir bordering seven holes on the front nine and water hazards coming into play on a total of 14 holes. In addition to the water, there are a variety of elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic, which can make it a tough golf course to play your first time. Be prepared for a few blind shots. Richter Park's signature hole, the par-5 12th, is bordered by Boggs Pond. Your third shot will be over water to a bunkered green.

Richter Park during fall foliage Photo submitted by dplevin11 on 10/05/2013
Beautiful Course with Plenty of water views.
The course was in great shape, well maintained and looked beautiful.
Golf now confusion on tee times
We turned up for a Golf now reservation
Richter had cancelled the tee times and had two shot gun events
Not sure who to blame on communication breakdown
That said. Richter staff did their best and got us on the course and we played 16 holes
Solid Choice
Always been a big fan of Richter Park GC!
Long time local resident and one of our go to courses. Great value for your outing, with a bucket to warm up with. 3:45pm tee time on Mothers Day and the course wasn't jammed up. Starter had us tee off early and with a standard pace of play, we didn't have anyone knocking at our back door for the 18.
Pro shop is stocked and has a better selection than most. Everyone that we encountered working there was helpful and very accommodating
The Course was in great condition. Greens were a tad bumpy, but they must have been aerated a few days prior. I can let that slide as they got to get worked on sometime or another.
All in all, a great value and a great course. Looking forward to playing here a few more times this season.
Never Disappoints
Richter Park has always been great, And it is constantly getting better! New tee boxes last year. This year brings new stone walls on some of the spectacular water holes. All of the employees friendly and helpful. Rangers on point on a couple of blind holes.
Doawalkthru
And hit them straight. The course will reward you for staying on the fairway. Hurt you with water if you are not looking.
Do it....
Not worth full price
I only played becausd i vot a deal. Reminded why i do t play jere. Onditiins in onstent and not great, slow pace of play and some very strange holes. Also so.e pretty ones, but not worth full ffeivhf
It's been 9 years
Richter was a convenient location for the foursome, who all came in from different directions. I've played here 4 or 5 times, and this will be the last. I forgot how goofy the layout was. I forgot how painfully slow the greens were. I forgot how lazy the pace was.
Two of the 4some are single digit players who hit a long ball. We played the white tees to keep the vibe with the other 2 fun. It's no fun hitting 3 woods and hybrids of the tees. Holes 6,7,8, on the front are poorly designed. You'll need a seeing eye cart to deal with the blind shots. 12 is a par 5 where a straight 250 drive can wind up in the left woods. 15 is a mushy fairway and yet another hybrid of iron off the tee. The worst of the holes is 18. A 180 yard tee shot to to the center of this sharp dog leg right (driving range OB just beyond) leave 220 in. Ridiculous.
Food and beers were great.
Very nice, almost pristine.
Greens, tee boxes and fairways are just spectacular.
Not a beginners course. It's quite challenging.
