Well maintained course to shave strokes off your game
Cedar Ridge is a great place to work on your iron and wedge game, and doesn't cost much more than going to the range. The course is typically in excellent shape, especially considering the dry weather lately. The biggest issue by far is pace of play. I've walked the front 9 with a partner in 56 minutes; typically it's closer to 2 hours. Use the available tee times on GN to make an educated guess as to how busy the course is.
Great Couples Place
Cedar Ridge is fun to play for both regular golfers and occasional players. Nice layout and good arrangement.
WorstDay of Golf
It was a golf experience I hope I never have to experience again. We started our round playing behind a five some and we thought we lucked out when they allowed us to play through.after two holes. However the two foursomes ahead of us could not get off the tee without numerous attempts to hit a ball in the fairway. Finally we got to the back nine and thought we could play at a reasonable pace when we arrived at the 11th hole. It was probably the longest hole on the course. However the foursome on the tee treated the hole like a driving range as both the men and the women hit numerous balls off the tee as we waited. Certainly they had not heard of golf etiquette. The course itself was in decent shape but you have to be aware that balls could be coming from all directions especially with the caliber of players on the course. It appears that you show up and play with no spacing between tee times. The cost of playing this executive course was not worth the money.
Every club in the bag
Yes, it's a par 3 course. But do not be fooled. Yardages from 110 to 250, with 5 or 6 holes at or above 200 yards. Elevation changes are also a lot of fun. You can bunt a driver on the 250 yarder and hit hybrid or long irons on the back 9. The greens are a lot more sloped than you think and in fantastic shape. A few bunkers but not really an issue. Tee boxes are average, the rough is evident but not awful, and off the greens are well maintained. I think it's the perfect place to practice all of your irons and short pitch shots. And there's wind on a few holes, so you actually have to factor that in. If you love iron play and want to sharpen your overall game, check it out.
Big bang for your buck!
I have played this course many times over the past 5 years, in a weekly league. It is always in very good condition, especially the greens (though they are never what you would call fast). The course provides a challange for good golfers who want to improve their short game. But it is also very playable for beginners. The front 9 is shorter and fairly easy for an average golfer. It is a good warm up for the longer and much tougher back 9, which has several holes between 196 and 250 yards. Water can come into play on holes 1, 10, and 12 (the longest hole on the course). Parts of the course are hilly. But it is walkable.
Par. 3
Nice small course. the only watering is done on the greens. Great place to learn.
