Irv
Starter, Irv, is one of the meanest people ever to serve the public. Kitchen closes at 7p. I'll take my business elsewhere.
Extremely Slow pace
There was no ranger. There were two young boys ahead of us who were practicing. They went from a half a hole behind those ahead of them to almost 2 holes. We finally skipped a hole and played behind the people who were well ahead. We soon caught up with them. At the turn it appeared that the threesome ahead of us were not going on, so we went to tee off, only to have them then appear, so we backed off. After they finally teed off, we asked if they would mind if we skipped this hole, and they agreed ok. We then played the back nine with no waiting at any hole. Had there been a ranger this probably would not have happened. Otherwise,NA beautiful day for golf!
Nice course, unprofessional staff
The course was much better than I was expecting. The weather was beautiful, pace was fine and grass was well watered for a public course. We ended up doing 18 in about 4.5 hours with a cart.
I would have given this a much better review if it wasn't for the starter. When you are looking to go out and have a fun time with a colleague after work, the last thing you want to deal with is rude staff. He gave no guidance and seemed miserable. If this is your first time there, just be ready for him.
I was fortunate enough to be with a great crew of people that made the day much better.
Get what you pay for
This course is easily the worst course around but i guess yo get what you pay for. 48 bucks for 18 holes and a cart makes it worth playing but the pace of play is awful and the course conditions are terrible
Fairchild Wheeler golf course
Very playable and average golfer friendly; greens rolled true , course was in good condition overall, some tee. Boxes need repair
a round in the hot sun
price was right. A municipal course has a tough time measuring up to a private o r semi-private facility. Very hilly for 4 holes, the rest are open and flat and fairly straight. Some very long par 4's make things interesting and more difficult unless you are a long hitter. Some fairways were in good shape, others were hard to tell where the fairway ended and rough began. And the rough was like a cow pasture in places. Greens in good shape. Pace of play was slow, not that they were that crowded, but because there were a lot of duffers out there and teens. Overall, since the price was right, not too bad a day.
Staffing and ease of play
Fantastic staff that keeps the course humming along to minimize disruption to flow of play.
