At the third: pondering the break of the green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/03/2020
The fourth features a raised green, a pot bunker, and trouble awaiting over-hit approaches. At least it’s beautiful. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/03/2020
View from the front of the tee at five, a superb 205 yarder with links-style contouring at the green complex. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/03/2020
Five, again: One of my favorite par-3’s in Connecticut. The contours seem like something out of North Berwick in East Lothian, Scotland. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/03/2020
Seven: One of a slew of strong holes here. A big pair of grass bunkers (along with a sand bunker—unseen from this view) guards the putting surface. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/03/2020
Eighteen: For those who like challenging 3-pars, Tunxis offers four, including this bunker-flanked finisher. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/03/2020
nice day nice course
pro shop did not have my reservation confirmation from golf.now this was a little annoying - had to call golf.now 800 number before douse finally found reservation.
Golf expreience comfortable
Course is 100 % . From parking to driving away . Everything is good . We played on a Monday it was not crowded . My friend and I played in 3 hours . Conditions of the course were taken care of fairways, greens, traps, tees. ideal conditions you would want to play in .
a decent course that is a good value. play is slow when crowded but nice if the course is open.
Good play, fair price
The first hole was a nice straight par 4, no divots on the green at all. Every green was well kept, nicely groomed and filled in. The fairways were a little beat up but what can you expect after a long summer? I would definitely play again.
Course was very fair to play. Greens were true and quick.
Nice course for the average golfer
The course was in very good condition. Actually pretty wide open for a Friday afternoon. The challenge was good for someone of my level (18 GHIN handicap).
Played the White Course as a single. After a foursome allowed me to play through on #3, I sailed around the course. Good variety of holes. Course was well manicured. Greens were nice - good shape and relatively flat.
Green Course at Tunxis Plantation was Enjoyable
Staff was very pleasant. Fairways and green in great shape. The Green Course layout was very good - it was player friendly but had a number of challenges. Pace of play was outstanding.
Tunxis Green Course
course was in great shape. Our foursome teed off before league play. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in excelelnt shape. Course is forgiving on errant shots - not a lot of out-of-bounds. I will play again and I highly recommend the course.
Under 4 Hours on a Holiday Weekend
The course was in good condition, especially the greens. Just be aware, as some tees and greens are a little close. Friendly staff.
Played the Green 18
The course was challenging, and the greens appeared to be recently slit seeded, which made putting difficult. I wish they had mentioned that prior to teeing off. Also, the traps are hard packed sand. More attention should be made to rake them deeper so it resembles an actual sand trap and not hitting off your driveway. Aside from those two things I enjoyed playing this course.
good condition, nice layout,
certainly recommend for all reasons but may not be challenging for skilled players.
Course is in good shape and challenging.
We played the green course and it was a challenge for us, but we enjoyed the variety of the golf holes. Would recommend it highly.
Very enjoyable day ... great value.
Nice course, wonderful staff, good condition ... could use some additional signs leading to the next hole in at least one case. Played the red course.
Nice layout, in good shape
Nice layout, course in good shape, greens rolled true. Will return soon..
Good fun layout & course in good condition
Good fun course, recommend playing. Good condition greens played a little slow on this day. White course also worth playing.
Excellent course. One of my favorites.
This is an excellent course. It's maintained very well, is fun to play, and the pace of play is speedy. I've bee playing here for several years, and the fact that they're on GolfNow is just an added bonus!
Tunxis is the course you want to play if you don't join a privafe course. It is always in great shape and they are always accommodating from the proshop to the kitchen.
