The long second hole, a par-4 which doglegs left to reach this raised green, measures 439 yards from the blue tees. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/05/2022

No. 4 at Tunxis White is a tight par-3, its green guarded by water and by Town Farm Road. Par is a very good score here. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/05/2022

It’s gorgeous scenery, but a watery grave will be the fate of golf balls falling well short of green eight. Ditto for misses long or left. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/05/2022

The peninsular green at ten overlooks the lake that borders parts of holes seven through twelve. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/05/2022

My path to green twelve was crossed today by two families of Canada geese. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/05/2022

A pond bisects the seventeenth fairway, and may tempt big hitters to fly it off the tee–if their desire is a wedged approach. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/05/2022

Among the premier holes at Tunxis White are those with greens set on mini-peninsulas. The par-4 seventh is the first you’ll encounter. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/21/2021

Eight. Par-3, 164. The second peninsular green may give some golfers jitters on the tee. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/21/2021

Ten. Par-4, 347. My favorite hole. A ‘simple’ drive-and-pitch hole to this green, water-guarded everywhere but in front. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/21/2021

Twelve. Par-4, 376. A masterful hole--maybe the course’s best--ending on a cleverly contoured green (upon another peninsula). Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/21/2021
-
Four. Par-3, 176. Overdraw your tee shot and your golf ball will be deep-sixed. That’s frost you see in the shadows. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/21/2021

Beautiful course , beautiful day
Every facet of this course was well maintained .
Don’t bother
Usually in the summer this course is $75 and it’s not even worth it then. This was a November day, $33 to walk and $53 to ride. I walked and to my surprise every green was pretty much sand. No warning from the website and no warning from the pro shop. It’s really a load of crap that they do that to you. The course itself is flat and uninteresting. Spend your money elsewhere.
Sanded Greens
Unfortunately my brother and I were unaware that the greens on the white course would be sand traps this weekend, as we had paid normal green fees for our round. I understand that these sorts of things need to happen for conditional purposes, but the greens were unplayable, and really diminished the enjoyment of the round. It would have been nice to have had the fees reduced knowing that we would be sent out in these conditions. Players were even drawing pictures in the greens so I know we weren't the only ones displeased.
Reevaluate staff
Total check in took 25 minutes.. person in front of me asked to do a membership and then proceeded to do all the paperwork while i was behind her in line. I asked if I could just check in, cashier said no, she had the current customers info on her computer. So I waited for 15 minutes just standing there..
I prepaid through golf now app. Cashier had no record of our time, she seemed clueless. After 10 minutes or arguing and showing emails she just gave us a receipt and said to see the starter.
Starter had our tee time on the list so the issue was with the cashier, not our check in.
Starter asked if we could play the green course instead. We booked the white as we like that side more, and wanted to play the white.
Told the Starter no, we just wanted to play the course we booked at the tee time we booked.. the dinosaur said "fine but don't be slow, there's an outing after you."
Pace of play was great, didn't see anyone in front or behind us the whole time. There was no outing so I don't understand the need to lie
Good course, no complaint conditions and layout but overall this place sucks and needs to reevaluate their staffing choices.
We were confirmed on white course but when we arrived we were told a mistake was made and all of a sudden there was a tournament on white and everyone was crowded into green course, therefore extremely slow. You folks were nice enough to give us partial refund
Good course
White course was in very good condition. Challenging but fair for the average weekend golfer. Rough was thick and lush. Tees and greens were also in good condition. We would return.
The fairways were being reseeded. The greens were in great shape and fast.
Rough is rough otherwise nice track
Fairly wide-open fairways. Stay in them because the rough was very tall making it difficult to find balls especially with the early morning dew factor. Greens were in good shape as were the fairways and tee boxes.
Green over White
Hadn't played the white course in many years & gave it a try after playing the green course 2 wks ago. White seemed to feature narrower fairways & slightly smaller greens than the green course. I found the layout to be pretty boring with many similar holes, probably due to the use of peninsula greens on a stretch of 4 of six holes. Conditions - Course was well watered however several greens were damaged, bunkers were raked but edges were ragged & hard to tell where rough ended & bunker began, rough was overgrown and inconsistent. Overall I found playing the green course to be more enjoyable.
Slow slow play
Sunday in the summer. Started as a twosome, joined the twosome in front of us. Ending up waiting for two groups in front of us from hole 7 on. Took 5 hours to finish 18 holes. Only one water fountain worked on the whole course
