The long second hole, a par-4 which doglegs left to reach this raised green, measures 439 yards from the blue tees. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/05/2022

No. 4 at Tunxis White is a tight par-3, its green guarded by water and by Town Farm Road. Par is a very good score here. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/05/2022

It’s gorgeous scenery, but a watery grave will be the fate of golf balls falling well short of green eight. Ditto for misses long or left. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/05/2022

The peninsular green at ten overlooks the lake that borders parts of holes seven through twelve. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/05/2022

My path to green twelve was crossed today by two families of Canada geese. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/05/2022

A pond bisects the seventeenth fairway, and may tempt big hitters to fly it off the tee–if their desire is a wedged approach. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/05/2022

Among the premier holes at Tunxis White are those with greens set on mini-peninsulas. The par-4 seventh is the first you’ll encounter. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/21/2021

Eight. Par-3, 164. The second peninsular green may give some golfers jitters on the tee. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/21/2021

Ten. Par-4, 347. My favorite hole. A ‘simple’ drive-and-pitch hole to this green, water-guarded everywhere but in front. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/21/2021

Twelve. Par-4, 376. A masterful hole--maybe the course’s best--ending on a cleverly contoured green (upon another peninsula). Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/21/2021

Four. Par-3, 176. Overdraw your tee shot and your golf ball will be deep-sixed. That’s frost you see in the shadows. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/21/2021

Nice course
The course was in pretty good shape, besides the some of the greens having some spots of crab grass, some spotty grass areas and the rough long. The water level of the ponds were high, which always happens when it rains a lot the day before. The course itself is challenging and makes you think through it.
nothing available
Course lays out so you don't come back to clubhouse until 18. Halfway house closed and no cart. No notice when checking in that you won't have access to anything during the round. Very disappointing for a course that used to be a premier course in CT.
GEESE
I am quite sure the shedded feathers are a problem for all golfers. I saw no indication some extra effort was use to deter the geese. Lost a dozen or more golf balls. Nice course without the geese. I will not be back.
Decent course
Its been about 20 years since I last played at Tunxis' White course. It is a beautiful course that challenges you on a number of holes. The fairways and greens were in great shape. The pace of play was awesome. We finished our round in just under 3 1/2 hours. I highly recommend this course.
Rough to high
Was a packed course that took 5 1/2 hrs to play. Granted if you dont hit it straight you pay but the rough is way to long.yo much time looking for a ball that you cant see unless your directly over it.
Slowest 18 holes this year
The course was in very nice shape as it usually is. The pace of play was abysmal. There needs to be someone out there moving people along. The foursome in front of us took forever to get off the tee box then spent ten minutes driving in circles or wandering around without a club looking for a ball then when they finally found one walked back a to the cart to get a club, they should have brought a few dozen with them and dropped one every couple of shots. I don’t think there was one hole we didn’t have to wait ten minutes to tee off ourselves. Over five hours for the eighteen holes we played. Just ruined the score and the round.
White Course
Bought the deal time on the White course. They were not and the cost for the cart is astronomical. Almost as much as the round for 4. After buying the carts, I was informed that the white course was too wet to allow carts so I was sent off to the green course. Not one of my preferred courses! Not what I wanted or expected.
Great round again!
Never an issue with tunxis. Found a great deal on golf now app. Pace of play was good as we teed off twenty mins after the last league. Even with all the rain we've had, the course was in excellent shape. Only one hole was a bit squishy (hole 10) but it didn't phase me at all.
I'll be back as always
