Double up on Emeral and Gold
If you are playing Emerald, book on Gold for a full golf experience. Course facilities; driving range and practice putting green very nice. Not as many views as on Emerald but, still grabs your attention on a few holes. Many bunkers on Gold! Greens are smaller than most think. Some forced carries but, not too many to get put you in bad spots. Par 5's for the average player are layups. Gold Course is long even from the resort tees! Overall, the average weekend golfer will enjoy the Gold and the above average player gets a great challenge!
Dreamday
Me and my wife played early in the morning at 7.40 am. Everything was perfect. The course was in a perfectly shape. The crew was very friendly.
Great course from facilities to the staff and track! Beautiful views!
The Gold Course at Wailea Is a challenging track with good length variety to choose from. Lots of elevation changes from tee to green create the challenge while forgiveness is often found in many wide fairways which collect off Center shots back into play.
Numerous bunkers in the fairways and protecting the greens will keep you honest and conscious of club selection.
The staff is outstanding!
Decent course, Staff not cordial
Nice condition. Great views. Unfriendly staff. They need to overhaul personnel. This is a service/entertainment business afterall.
Beverage cart
Although the course was beautiful and the views were spectacular we played 16 out of the 18 holes before we seen the beverage cart.disappointing as no outside alcohol is permitted. Also you can not stop after nine holes and go by a beer at the clubhouse and take it with you. All in all a great day
Challenging but enjoyable
I have played this course many times in the past and I always go back every time I am on Maui. The course conditions are always perfect and the views are spectacular. The staff is also pleasant and professional!
Gold worth the wait
I waited a long time to play the gold course and when it showed up as a hot deal I jumped on it. Reminded me some of the Makena courses. Great views, lots of elevation changes. This is not an easy golf course so pick the right tee box. Greens were Bermuda grass, so hard to read. I can't wait to go back!
Over rated
Some decent views, but the course is not worth $150-$200, and is in average shape at best! Lots of "dead areas", grass is like crab grass which all seems like weeds. Cart girl maybe got around to us 3 times tops. I was disappointed after my round and the amount of money I paid thinking this was one if the best. It's not. For $70-80, fine but $150-200, not a chance of a replay!
Great Condition and Spectacular Views
The course was in great condition, very scenic, great attention to detail, greens run fast and true, views of the ocean and humpback whales on almost every hole. Each hole was unique and the round was a very enjoyable experience. One of the top five courses on Maui (others include Kapalua Plantation & Bay Courses, The Dunes & Maui Lani and the Wailea Emerald Course, plus The Challenge at Manele on Lanai is a must for the avid golfer). The round was topped off by Susan getting a hole-in-one on the Par 3 11th hole, #2 and counting .........
Review
this course needs to be played by serious golfers and golfers who want to experience true Maui golf experience
A real gem
What a gorgeous course. Along with being beautiful, the course was in magnificent condition. The greens were really confusing to me, as they were very slow and just didn't break as much as they look like they should. But that doesn't take away from the course at all. The course is very playable - big wide fairways. A very enjoyable round!
the course had a lot of sand traps.
the course has some tough holes if you a want a challenging course this is the one to play. the fairways were wide enough that you could drive in. sand traps had nice quality to it that you could get the club through it. had a lot of scenery to look at. out of the 18 holes I thought 11 of them could be their signature holes. the greens were tough to read at times but the starter tried explaining the way to read them. I'm more use to reading green that break away from the mountain or breaking towards the water. I got a great price by using golf now. the course plays from 5300 yards to over 7,000. it is a true test of one's golf game. this is one of the best venues for golf in maui
Great course with beautiful views and attentive staff
Love to play in Wailea. Can't beat views! Course always in great condition and staff very friendly.
Great views, GPS in carts helped with course hazards.
The day went well, the pace of play could have been just a bit quicker, I would say no more than 4 hours 15 minutes.
great course-pricey
Second best course on Maui next to the Plantation course at Kapalua
Beautiful course with great views
The course was in great condition and had lots of variety-greens were challenging and fun. Had some holes with some well placed fairway bunkers so the course wasn't just a driving range.
Beautiful views and extra plus.
Beautiful scenery and excellent condition
The course is our favorite on Maui . We had more wind than we remember, so it made it a little more challenging. The course was in great shape. The staff was very friendly. The only negative was the GPS device didn't seem accurate, particularly within 125 yards.b
Stunning views
A lush landscape with ocean views. A bit difficult to read the greens, so my putting was not the best. Course management is important here. The staff is wonderful. The course is clean. I love coming here.
We'll kept fairways greens had been punched sad!!!!
Over all enjoyed the Emrald!! Pat the starter let me change from Gold to Emrald didn't want to play punched Gold nice of him thank you Pat.
Challenging but FUN even for the Aaverage golfer.
Course was in excellent condition. Ball sat up in the fairways and the greens were true and easy to read but challlrenging.
