Very beautiful upscale course.
Lovely, well maintained course. Very fair with only a couple of forced carries from the red tees. If you play from the correct tees for your skill level, you should have a great time. The real challenge on the Wailea courses are the greens. Be sure to have the starter explain how to read them or look forward to a lot of three and four putts.
Golf in Paradise!
I really enjoyed playing at Wailea Gold. The course was in great conditions, and the view was amazing all around the course. The elevation changes made gave the course more character and the volcanic formations a very unique touch. I can't wait to go back.
Pace of play was great......felt like we were all alone......
GPS on carts was terrible......no one could fix it as all carts were saddled with the same problem.......not bright enough...
For the price we payed, I would expect a 1st class operation.....I probably will not come back.
Beautiful and Challenging
Great track for all levels of skill. Many well-placed sand bunkers keep you thinking... Best of all the Wialea courses. Great value with Golf Now
Views on the course were nice
The staff was not very freindly, course was empty, tried to get out early and they said that since I booked with golfnow.com , I have to stick to scheduled time, seemed to be mad that I booked through golfnow.com. Corse itself was not as plush as it used to be , lot of dry areas and greens were not in great shape.
Play Gold avoid Blue!!!
Played Gold course and would highly recommend playing it. Conditions were great and although the pace was a little slow totally enjoyed playing here. Played here 3 years ago on a previous trip and course was just as great this time as then. Would say it is one of the best on the island next to the Kapalua courses. Try to get a deal off of Golfnow and this place is a steal!!!!
Beautiful setting
Very beautiful setting with some picturesque views. Need to hit driver fairly straight but wouldn't say it was a very tight course. Greens were slower than expected and had hard time initially getting the ball to the hole. Tradewinds are not an issue on this part of the island I think as it was fairly calm. Will be back again one day
Great views, great golf.
Wailea Gold was probably one of the most scenic courses on Maui. On almost every hole, the views of the ocean and Molokini are a distraction to your golf. The layout of the course is challenging with the course designer, Robert Trent Jones II, making use of the natural terrain and prevailing trade winds to make the golfer think before selecting their club.
I have played the Wailea courses many times and have always had that satisfied feeling of golf fulfillment afterward, wanting to come back for more.
Challenging and beautiful!
The course was in great shape and the scenery was awesome! The best camera shot to take is your approach shot in the fairway on hole 18. Practice facilities are great too. The pace of play was fine and it was nice to kind of take time to observe things around me. My wife doesn't play golf, but she rode with me on the cart and enjoyed everything about it. The staff was awesome and set me up for a good round. Next time I go back, I will be playing this course again.
Great course layout and good views from front 9.
We played both the Gold and Emerald courses. The Emerald course was pristine with great views throughout the course. The pro shop recommended we should play the Emerald twice instead of the Gold due to problems with the greens. We wanted to play both courses and glad we did. If you can only play one, play Emerald!
Overpriced and overated.
Arrived early and the staff were extremely rude when we tried to check in and refused to check us in until closer to our tee time. We had prepaid or we would have left. The course is not in good shape and many of the greens were in terrible shape. Better courses and much better values can be found.
challenging and beautiful
Par protected by tricky green speeds , bunkers, and challenging distance control
Spectacular course.
One of the best golf courses on Maui. Great facilities and friendly, helpful staff. Artificial turf practice tees only drawback. Beautiful and challenging layout. Provides a variety of scenic vistas from volcanic lava flows to spectacular ocean views. A must play and bring a camera.
Great challenging course.
The gold course was very challenging with some risk reward par 5's, many bunkers, and some great views.
What an island course should be
Fun and challenging layout...with each hole offering a different look.
My Maui fave..
Golf in paradise
Yes, it is expensive. But a round on this beautiful course with it's breathtaking views and fine layout through an ancient lava flow is worth every dollar. This is like playing in paradise.
Challenging, beautiful course
Not inexpensive, but definitely worth playing! The most beautiful course I've ever played and pristinely maintained. Staff was cordial, starter was extremely helpful and friendly. Course is challenging, but not unforgiving. Hope you enjoy bunker play - there are lots out there!
Must Play
The course was in great shape. Prior to play make sure you understand the burned edge of cup green reading technique.
GolfNow is the way to play the Wailea Courses!
Very Nice course
This is the first time I played the Gold Course. I have played the Emerald Course several times. I thought it was just a little more challenging than the Emerald Course, mostly due to more sand traps. Pace of play was good, with several nice views of the ocean. Will be playing the course again in December.
