Blackledge Country Club - Gilead Highlands
About
Gilead Highlands, or the "New Course," joined the original golf course at Blackledge Country Club, Anderson Glen, in 2000. They share the same parkland setting but the courses are unique in character. The "Old Course" provides a more traditional round while Gilead Highlands is slightly shorter, but also a bit more challenging. The heavily wooded landscape can prove to be quite formidable and there are also a few water features that come into play throughout the golf course. The layout offers an interesting variety of holes from fun par 3s to demanding par 5s. The course begins with one of the front nine's most difficult par 4s. This dogleg right hole requires a tee shot with perfect placement to the left center of the fairway. Long hitters will enjoy this one, but be cautious of the out-of-bounds on the right.

One (435 yard par-4): The first fairway is broad and doglegs right, but it’s still no simple target to hit. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/26/2020

Seven: excellent example of playability in course design, as the marsh demands a forced carry, but with a somewhat forgiving landing strip beyond. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/01/2020

Course has good features
Course fairways and tees were in great shape although the greens were recently airated.
The front nie played well however ran into leagues on the back nine which significatnly slowed pace.
Nice course, lousy staff
Aside from aerated greens the course was in great shape. The starter was a jerk and put our group in filthy carts. When we protested he said "oh come on". I'll stay at Anderson Glen from now on.
good course for the money
Both courses at Blackledge are well kept. The fairways and greens are well looked after along with the bunkers. The greens are not super challenging or undulating. Although not super long from the blues, the gold tees do add substantial length. This course is a good fair track for any novice to intermediate player. Most holes are lined hy trees, but there is a good ammount of space so that you don't feel to tight when teeing off.
Overall I have always enjoyed playing at Blackledge. There is a good staff there. Fair prices for beers, good food on the go, and a pretty good relaxed atmosphere in the bar. Clean place.
This course is pretty nice
Overall the course is well maintained and is a moderately difficult course. When we went the greens had just been airrated, so they were a little rough, but in a month or so, Im sure they will be beautfil.
Very well-maintained course
Slow play. Foursome in front were slow and didnot let
my twosome play through. Waiting on every shot.
Great Course
Loved this course. As a beginner, appreciated mostly wide fairways. Challenging but not to the point of frustration. Grounds are well maintained. Little difficulties with some uneven greens. Look forward to playing here again.
Great track, a little of everything.
Played the Gilead, course was in very good condition especially for time of year which was late April but havent had much rain.
The greens were very slow but to be expected at this time.
Friendly staff. The course provides a good challenge I liked the track a lot has dog legs, water, both long and short holes. Play was a bit slow. Besides that I would recomend to play. Think regular price could be a little lower on weekends but got a great deal on Golfnow.com
The course was in nice shape
The course was somewhat challenging and the grounds and the greens were in excellent condition. Would highly recommend this course to others. Cant wait to get back out there and play their other course.
Great course in perfect condition
Great place to start the season at. Looking forward to going back soon.
course located in picturesque community
Had a very enjoyable day on my first golf day of 2013. Course was in good condition. Course is a good mixture of holes from fairly easy to difficult. I would definitely go back and play again
Great conditions courteous staff!
Course was in great shape, no more temporary greens. Maintenance crew was out in force but was very considerate to players playing. Always a great place to play!
Fun to play when you hit in fairway
Every time I play this course, the placement of the tee shot is the most important. I do enjoy that I can use a wood or 5 iron off the tee often which leaves me with a great 2nd shot to the green. What a great feeling... Scoring low is possible, but scoring high is much easier...
Very Nice course
Gilead Highlands at Blacxkledge is a very nice course. I have played there several times and always enjoy it. A fair test of Golf for all handicaps, challanging but not overpowering. Only draw back wa the leaves. Played in October, windy and leaves on most of the greens. Greens and fairways are in Great shape other than that.
12 hole Par 5 very callenging
I have played this course several times and always enjoy both courses (Anderson/Gilead). The course is beutifully kept and the landscape has georgeous mountain views.
The Restaurant and bar on the Anderson Course is comfortable and inviting, I always stop and enjoy a few alcoholic beverages after a round of golf. The staff is very friendly and attentive.
Great value with Golfnow
I enjoy playing course. Course is always being maintained . Only issue I had was a defective course cart that quick working after 2 holes. They ran another one out to us at about 15 minute mark.
Greens Issue
Haven't played here in awhile and thought we were getting a good deal so we booked a round. Really wish they had mentioned that 3 greens were under repair or damaged. Also they had an outing on this course and after 5 hours and 15 holes we bailed and left.
This was my first time
This was my first time at Gilead and I called the pro shop after booking and asked the gentleman how much an add on cart would be as it was a walking rate and I was told it was 15$ for the 2 some I had. When I arrived at my tee time I was told it was 15$ person for the cart and that the guy who answered the phone was new and didnt give you the correct info. So basically I paid full price for this course, the guy wasn't rude but not very nice about it and he should have taken care of the customer. There were a few holes under construction. If I'm going to drive 45 minutes I would much rather go to another course.
