Indian Springs Golf Club in Middlefield has been owned and operated by the same family since it first opened in 1964. With a terrain of rolling, tree-covered hills, the course is as scenic as it is fun to play. The nine-hole layout is player friendly enough to appeal to players of all skill levels and there is an alternate set of tees to play an 18-hole round. Though many of the fairways are wide and forgiving, there are a few tricky blind shots that will test your accuracy. The par-5 second hole is one of the most memorable. It leads you uphill before plummeting downhill to a green protected by three sand traps. Indian Springs Golf Club's second par 5, the tree-lined fifth hole, is also notably tricky. The fairway edges along mature forests, leading to a sharp dogleg right downhill to the green, which is surrounded by trees.

Indian Springs Sept 15

Second time playing the course. Nice 9 hole course but can be a little difficult to walk because of hills. Greens were well cared for and rolled true. First time walking it was 92F. Thought it would be much easier in 73F but still tough for my wife. Will be back but with a cart.

A Course to Bank On

I find myself returning regularly to Indian Springs, as not only is this a very well-conditioned nine-hole layout, but also offered is just about all you might expect for challenge. And that despite the fact that this isn’t a long track. What creates the better part of that challenge, simply, are two major factors: the often large elevation changes from tee to green along with the slick and highly contoured greens themselves. The putting surfaces themselves may be the fastest on any nine-holer among the twenty or so that exist in Connecticut.

Course conditions were good today, although they fell short of the usual excellent standard I’ve seen here most times. The fringes needed cutting–which was the only thing that I found to truly affect scoring–and both the fairways and greens seemed slightly worn, mostly likely due to heavy summer play. This, of course, happens to many public tracks during June through August, so it’s not terribly surprising. Service was slow at the front desk, although friendly. It is Labor Day weekend.

Still, I would call it another very good day of golf at this enjoyable course, whose value is pretty much unbeatable.

Nice

fun course , quick sloping greens. Position course.
Only suggestion would be a large net at the back and side of the range to avoid being killed on #8 or the practice chipping greens from long or over hooked /sliced shots

Love this course, but slow pace

I really enjoy playing at this course. It’s in great condition and the price is unmatched, but it did take me just over 2 and a half hours to play 9 holes walking by myself. Not sure what the hold up was but it was incredibly slow. I have played a few times before and have had no complaints other than the pace of play.

Excellent Condition

I've played Indian Springs 4 times this year. The course condition is in excellent shape. Layout is challenging on several holes and greens are big and you need to be in right position to putt well.

Wonderful Rainy Day

I arrived for my tee time and the rain came down in buckets. After a delay of about an hour they let us out. I was paired with a member who was kind enough to be my on course guide and chaperone. The course was in good condition with tough roughs and tricky lies. Go have fun on this course!

Nice little course

This was a fun course to play. The difficulty comes from the fact that it is located in a very hilly area, almost every fairway results in a side hill lie of some sort. The fairways and greens were in very good condition. The greens are quick and are on the harder side to read. Overall I would play this course again now that I have some local knowledge!

Gorgeous course. Hidden CT Gem

Indian Springs is an absolutely gorgeous course. I think it probably gets over looked because it is a 9 hole course but it is in perfect condition. The tee boxes were incredible, fairways, perfectly cut and the greens were immaculate. It is a fairly easy course, but with a few tricky par 5's and some swale and slopped fairways, it makes for a nice couple of hours on the course. I will definitely be back to play more!
