The Blue’s reachable par-5 seventh can be a two-shooter for power hitters. The approach, though, must be laser-straight. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/19/2021

Second: Blue Nine, 377 par-4: The rolling fairway and small green combine to make a routine hole interesting. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/02/2021

Sixth, Blue, 201 par-3: This plays a bit longer than card’s yardage because it travels uphill. The green is small & contoured. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/02/2021

Eighth, Blue, 148 par-3: A plateau green and big bunker ensure that this three-par won’t be all that easy. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/02/2021

Sixth, Red: 331 par-4, dogleg right. Hit your drive in the proper spot and you’ll have a short club into this green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/02/2021

Seventh, Red, 180 par-3: Scenic hole with a well-protected green. Avoid the big dropoff to the right. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/02/2021

Eighth, Red, 396, par-4: A classic two-shotter that plays more like 420 (uphill, with a raised green). One of Elmridge’s best holes. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/02/2021

Drama: Hole five descends about four stories from its tee. A marshy pond guards a green set among dense woods. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 05/25/2021

Hello Everyone!
Hello everyone! My name is Chris Medeiros and I am the new Head Golf Professional here at Elmridge! I have read the reviews on here , and having just taken over the helm here in 2016, things are DRAMATICALLY changing here at Elmridge. New staff(Jim is still here!) , a newer, cleaner cart fleet, a course that is set up to the player and numerous projects(none of which will interrupt play) are ongoing! I have read each and every one of these reviews and agree with all of them! Would just like a moment to say that management has changed and so has the whole environment here!!!!! A new ,fully stocked Proshop, and a round of golf that will be worth EVERY PENNY, from the first tee to the 19th hole! Thanks for your time, and hope to see you soon! Chris Medeiros
Elmridge
Course was in very good shape. Fairways were clear of leaves and the rough was thick. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Will be back in the future.
Great course. Never had to wait to tee off..Checking in ..no problem. Will definitely come back.
Slow play
We were the first group behind an outing of 10 groups of 4 players in each group. Neither TeeOff booking or the course informed us of this situation. After 4 hours of play we had only gotten to the 13 hole and couldn’t take the aggravation anymore so we quit. Before our money was taken we should have been informed of the situation. We had a beautiful day ruined and certainly didn’t receive value for our money.
Better than expected
After reading reviews, I wasn't expecting much . The driving range and 1st hole fairway were someone devoid of grass but after that the rest of the Red nine and the entire White nine were in great shape. All of the greens were superbly conditioned although holding them was difficult because they are small and firm. All in all, a definite "play again". Parking lot crowded as locals seem to love it. Fantastic VALUE!
First time at elmridge
Played a quick 18 on Thursday but front 9 was real slow on Friday due to a tournament of hackers back 9 under 2 hrs
Bring a sleeping bag
Slowest play I have ever had. Way overbooked. No ranger anywhere. Behind three ladies walking on the front nine. Waited on every hole. Back nine behind three gents that took 10 minutes looking for balls on every hole Quite after 15 holes won't go back.
Continuous Improvement
I enjoyed my round here today with a fine trio of golfers who had to put up with me, but they managed. We had a good time, playing a pretty quick round on the White/Blue. Each time I play here I seem to enjoy Elmridge more: seems like it will be a rota course for me. I’ve met some friendly playing partners over the five times I’ve visited this past year, and the course’s scenic location in the wooded hills is soothing and beautiful.
Layout Summary:
On the Blue, which is moderately hilly, architect Joseph Rustici has a penchant for using the rolling land in various ways down each fairway, the result being challenge, variety, and the encouragement of strategic play. Ideal examples of such appear on the stretch from holes 2 through 5. Augmenting the challenges are elevated greens, or sometimes strong greenside bunkering, throughout. While the Blue’s elevation changes are moderate, on the White seven of the nine holes ride big slopes. This W/B combination has four good par-3s and a quartet of stout par-5’s, the standouts being the fifth from each half: the White’s a monster 591-yarder that rolls as if it’s part of an oceanside links; the Blue’s a clever dogleg and maybe a two-shotter if you can hit back-to-back shots with power and precision.
Slopes around the greens tend toward the subtle, but a few greens require a lot of borrow on lengthy putts. Putting challenges are well-balanced, never done to excess. Driving to these fairways will often require your best efforts, and the biggest challenge may come at the Blue’s fourth, where the large knob at the dogleg is a hard target to hit and hold. This fourth is a hard nut to crack if you’re looking for a par or better.
Some conclusions: What’s impressive is the continued improvement on course conditions throughout this summer of 2021. Fairways and tees are now good and most of the greens excellent. Conditioning still falls short of top-notch but a wide range of players should be happy, as I have been, with Elmridge. Not too tough but far from easy, this White/Blue combination adds up to a course well worth playing. It’s also a solid value.
