April Showers bring a really wet course
My first time at this course. I showed up and found out one of the nines was closed due to aeration. Also found out could only ride on one 9 and had to walk the second 9. The staff was nice about it so on I went. First nine was very wet but managed to maneuver around most of it. Started the second 9 walking and by the second hole walked back to the clubhouse. I would recommend the course but not after any amount of rain or this time of year. May try again when things dry out.
Good Course, Fast Greens!
We played the Blue & White course. The course was in very good shape, a lot of roll on the fairways. Yes, the greens were fast, but putted true. Pace of play was excellent for the first 10 holes, then my partner and I ran into a foursome that thought they were playing the pro tour. They would not allow us to play through, this is not the courses fault! It's four inconsiderate players (you know who you are, the carts had the U.S. flag on one & the Canadian flag the other). Met the pro Chris Medeiros, he was very friendly, as was everyone we met who worked there! Fun course to play. I will be back to play again. No comment on the amenities, as we didn't go in the restaurant after. Thanks to Chris and everyone at Elmridge for a good day!
Diamond in the rough
Price is reasonable. Fairways are groomed. Greens are smooth and true. 27 different and interesting holes.
Pro shop is helpful and friendly. The 19th hole is comfortable and pleasant.
All and all a great golf place with good value. I love it!
Elmridge is now friendly
Having grown up in Stonington and played Elmridge hundreds of times as a kid, I will play it annually when back for summer vacation. It’s always been a good value course - tees, fairways and greens in good shape and rough, well rough. That’s what I found when I played today. But the big change - the staff was friendly. It was always a running joke that from the pro shop to the on course workers, everyone who worked there was in a bad mood. But something has changed. Pro shop was super nice, starter joked with me, guys cutting tees and sweeping greens struck up conversations. Not that big of a deal but compared to the “old days” it was nice.
Very nicely laid out course with several challenging holes. Staff is friendly and courteous. Always like playing there.
Play here often. 27 holes so pace of play is rarely an issue, but I also don't usually play on a busy Saturday! Course was in great shape. Only complaint is that the grounds crew comes right up on you and rarely shuts the engines down. I'm not on the LPGA, I get it, but can't the crew get out earlier so that they are of the course by noon??
Not a pleasant round.
I rated it three stars for value only because of the golf now price. Their regular rate would only get one star. They have several different courses that apparently can be played in different combinations of holes and it appears they send the golf now customers off the on the less desirable combinations. ( this according to my playing partners who have played the course before ).
Enjoy the round. Had to play the red course twice. Would have liked to play the blues or white course. They had a tournament that day.Would have like to know beforehand. Stuff happens
We played white to blue. Greens were shaggy and bumpy with no true roll. Looks like the grass is growing in patches. Fairways were too long and the bunkers seemed rough. For $40 it was ok, but don’t pay more. The course seems well behind where it should be as far as conditions for this time of year.
an unhidden gem
have played here a number of times. Always liked the layout, course in good shape. Staff was very friendly
The course was not in great shape , very wet and boggy under foot , tee boxes and greens were rough. . Lots of blind shots ,and hard turn doglegs .
Good Morning Golf Now Golfers!!!! We're happy to be back at Golf Now after not being online last year!!!!! Lots has changed at the course!!! New Mowed down approaches and fall off areas, a few less bunkers, newly designed greens, and a renovated proshop! As many of you read previous reviews I just wanted to put one up that is an honest report ! Few years ago we did have some green issues but let me assure you after a process called deep tine aerification or Drill and Fill, the health of our greens is top notch!!!! We hosted numerous big events here last year and our golfers were VERY VERY HAPPY!!! Stan, Ian and crew work so very hard, and last year was a true testament to having things done that needed to be done!!!! We've already cut down new approaches, false fronts, greens fairways and tees and the golf course looks amazing after a difficult and seemingly never ending winter!! The proshop is fully stocked with everything priced at internet prices!!! All grass Driving Range is open and were ready to get this season started!!!! Kim and her staff are back in the Restaurant!!! Again,Happy to be back with Golf Now and we hope to see you soon!!!!!
First time playing at this course and it was awesome! Only issue we ran into was GolfNow allowed us to set a tee time at 7:36am and the course did not open until 8am. I suggest the course and GolfNow correct that. Especially waiting over 45 minutes in 40 degree windy weather. One of the best courses in the New England area.
Good course played just after the rain. The fairways good shape some greens need a little work on the red course. The manager Chris was great. Played with 2 other Golf now people had a great time. Would definitely play again.
Played just as the rain was ending, teamed up with2 other golfnowers. Treated great by the manager Chris and played the blue and red courses. Greens a bit slow account of the rain and a few greens looked like they have not recovered from the drought. Overall the course was in good shape will play again. I do recommend this course.
