A well maintained fun course
First experience will lead to playing this course more often.
Pequabuck
Well maintained excellent greens all areas well maintained
Great value, very challenging layout
Great course to play. Very challenging layout . Well maintained course. Greens rolled nice
A little bit of everything
Nice tee boxes plush fairways, fast greens and water mixed with some well placed bunkers.
Reservoir of fun
This course built around a public water supply was ironically very dry around the edges.. And with three par threes on the front side and no par fives on the back may not suit the traditionalists or the long hitters. But it's still worth a shot. The greens were very good and several interesting holes including a pretty par three that splits the reservoir. Very enjoyable day and will return at some point.
A perfect round on a perfect day
Well maybe not a perfect round of golf.
Front 9 in 1hour 10 min.
Hooked up the back 9.
10, 11, and 12 challenging,
for me at least.
Challenging
Well manicured. Greens are medium-to-quick. Course lay-out is difficult, you have to hit straight. I would play pequabuck again.
Great 18-Hole Course
Pequabuk was a great course to play on a Sunday of Labor Day weekend. The front nine are far easier than the back nine, with the back nine having several holes where it's almost impossible to see the pin out of the tee box. The back nine are more scenic than the front nine, however. The only thing I wish the course would add are "hole previews" on either the score sheet or tee box signs. Otherwise, great conditions, great course, and great deal!
conditions always good
Course was in good shape. They were cautious about fairways and had to drive only on cart path or rough. No fairways. To me it was not a problem I enjoy playing the course.
Pequabuck Golf with my son.
We had a great time playing together at Pequabuck. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The course was in good shape ( some burnt out areas) for the type of weather season we have had in Bristol -- very little rain. The greens are in excellent shape and fast.
I would recommend this course to anyone looking for a challenge. Position golf is needed as well as good putting.
Classic Old School Golf
My wife and I played here yesterday. Pace of play is excellent - no more than 3 1/2 hrs. for 18. Greens are superb! Course design is traditional New England - not a long course, but tricky. Have to hit is straight - lots of o.b. Bunkers need some t.l.c. A shotmaker's course , local knowledge helps. Very good value @ $40/pp with cart. We love to play here.
Terrible Course Management
Why would this course put up golfnow deals for 18 holes and then have us go out only to come to the 10th hole to be stuck behind an entire league. This is absolutely ridiculous. The wait was over an hour to get out on the 10th hole. The staff told us to go cut the league which was impossible because there were other players out there already. Terrible course management and will not be playing here again. I will also not use golfnow as there is no way to know if you are going to get screwed over at the course. I would have demanded a refund but I did not pay the course direct. Terrible experience.
Old Course!
Nice to see an old course being maintained. Layout is tight and you tend to have to cross holes to get to the next, but they minimize with the cart paths. There was one very bizarre hole, where it was a dog leg right that you also had to hit across a road on your approach shot to the green. Pace of play was good, some challenging holes especially with out of bounds lining some holes. Unfortunately the grill is closed on Mondays so can't comment on the food.
Fun
A great day with some great young fellows I was paired up with. Nice to play with others to challenge your game. A great experience.
Demi private
This course is always in very good condition and is well worth paying full price. I have played here many times and have never been disappointed. The staff is exceptional.
Great scenery, challenging course
It was my first time to play in this course. My wife and I were enjoying golfing yesterday. Actually, my wife wants to come again this course. Great scenery course. Especially, my wife and I love 10th island hole.
Don't be fooled (by the yardage)
Before we started, we looked atthe scorecard and saw the back tee yardage was only 6000 yards. Those tees were challenging, with a number of par 4 holes over 400 yards and par 3's over 180. What i missed was that the course was only par 69, with no par 5's on the back. We played on a windy October day, leaves and pine needles were everywhere - not the courses fault. There were lots of tight dogleg holes, and greens were very fast and sloped. Overall course conditions were good, not great. At $50 with cart its a good value - would like to play there again knowing where the doglegs go.
Still no idea how to pronounce the name, but..
Pequabuck is a very, very nice course; once you get past the first hole, the worst hole on the course, and find the second tee, yes first timers like ourselves will have issues there, another time on the front (maybe after the 4th or 5th) and after the 17th, they do need better signage, this is a cool course; The front is mostly narrow with some very interesting holes; And I'm sure there is somewhere in CT where there are three better holes in a row than 10/11/12, but off the top of my head I can't name them; 13 has power lines near the green, sort of weird, and I'd love to see them push the 14th tee back and make it a par 5; But all in all, this is a fun and interesting course to play; And if you are on the wrong side of the green, that 10 footer for birdie can be a 12 footer coming back for par: If you haven't played this course try it; highly recommended:
Great value
Great value, course in excellent shape as of 9/26/2014.
