In Great Shape
I've been playing once a week if possible since the start of April and Pequabuck was BY FAR in the best shape of any course I've played so far. It's dried out more than other courses and was in great shape. It was wet in a couple of spots, but it rained yesterday. All in all the course wasn't soggy and it wasn't cart path only and still maintained well. I played as a solo and the groups in front of me let me play through until I got to about 16. It was extremely windy, unlike anything I've experienced in CT, but that's an anomaly.
As a former member
I was a member at Pequabuck for a number of years, but not since 2007. The course was in fabulous condition considering the extraordinary amounts of rain here the last 6 weeks. The course was much harder than I remember but then again I'm now 75 and I don't hit it as far any more!! The greens were perfect and the bunkers raked...unlike some places I've played. Don't let the yardages from the different tees fool ya...this course is challenging. Play it to find out!!! The biggest advantage...gold tees.
Challenging course good value
Overall course was in great shape. The weather conditions became unbearable windy, raining and temperature dropped 6 degrees to 42. Disappointing that we were not able to get 9 hole rain check due to the unbearable weather all 12 players left early and by the 9th hole. Enjoy this course.
Quiet Hidden Gem
Course was in very good shape. A few areas being repaired. Greens recently aerated but fairways were great shape! Hole #10 is always great, must hit straight shot! Par 3s are not as easy as they look!
Nice layout
Course is in great shape. Par 3’s are challenging and the pin placement will make you earn birdies/pars.
Always great experience
Cannot go wrong going to this golf course! I drive 50 miles to play there
Great value and course in great shape.
I play Pequabuck 3-5 times a year, usually on fantastic golf now deals. Took 3 guys out who had never played, told them $35 for this course is fantastic. Now they believe me.
The course is in good shape and the greens may look a little rough up close from the aeration but they are smooth and true and should be perfect very soon. Greens started off VERY slow from the rain but by the turn at noon the pace had picked up and balls were dropping. Bunkers were mostly in great shape which is a luxury in central CT and they had a crew out completely turning over and raking other bunkers so we can actually pretend to be good at golf and hit sand shots like you're supposed to.
Pace was good, only had to wait a few times for the older group ahead of us. Start of the back nine should be on post cards. Friends loved the course and we will all be back.
FALL GOLF
NICE TO GET OUT AND PLAY GOLF IN THE FALL AT A WELL MAINTAINED GOLF COURSE CHECK IT OUT
Pequabuck Golf Club
Challenging shorter course - Every hole is different - Course conditions fantastic - Greens roll true on every hole

Patrick from Connecticut
Green and fairways are as good shape as ever been. Fun to play.
Not really a 4.5 star course
This course was ok at best. It’s not an overall long course. It’s only about 6,000 yards and a par 69. It’s a shot makers course. You can’t be scrambling much on this course. You have to place your balls in the right spots to make it count. Other than that it wasn’t much of a course. The greens were ok. Fairways, ok at best because there was some standing water and some patches. I honestly would play somewhere else if I had a choice.
Pequabuck
We learned that back nine was closed so would have to play front nine twice. We ended up quitting after nine because the pace was so slow. Wish we would have know about closed nine at the time we made our reservation.
Hello, Kevin. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you'll give Pequabuck another try in the near future.
