Arrogant pro
Played here today on gift certificate from them. it was for 18 holes with cart during the week a $35 or $30 on a weekend. The pro only wanted to reduce the weekend $35 dollar rate by $5 and when I questioned why he became a real jerk telling me it was a mistake by one of his employees and how he was going to find out who did it and give them big trouble. He was incredibly arrogant about it. This seems to be a recurring issue with him since last year we played 9 holes there and the STARTER sent us off the tenth hole. Right after our drive him and his wife and kids came off the ninth hole and he began screaming and I do mean screaming that we could not tee off there so we let him play through but our golf balls disappeared. Unbelievable The course is beautiful but can not understand how the management allows this kind of behavior from a supposed pro.
Slow Play, Too Many Leaves
I understand its Fall, but the greens were covered in leaves. Have someone blow them off periodically. Also, we arrived well in advance of our tee time only to discover a tournament taking place and that we had to wait for two groups to play through us before we could tee off. We tee'd off twenty minutes late and the start says "they are playing a best ball and will be out of your way quick." Yeah right. There is one thing league players are not renowned for and that is fast play. End result: 5 hour round that start late.
Beautiful views, and fun to play.
Had a fun time playing this course. The scenery was nice. The course is challenging enough to make you want to play it again. Staff was great. Pace was good.
Fall golf on the hill
Quarry Ridge is a course I like in central CT. The course isn’t long from the blue tees but you have to hit it straight. I know people that don’t care for the course but they are the ones that are fairway averse. The greens rolled nice. A lot of ball marks that weren’t being fixed by golfers. Traps are an issue historically I didn’t end up in any so I can’t review sand. Fairways were maintained and tee boxes ok at best. Great place for a fall round. We were lucky weather was perfect and no wind so leaves weren’t an issue unless you strayed from fairways. Group in front of us was not playing the right tee box for their game so that slowed us down but the weather was so nice we overlooked that. Try it if you haven’t.
Long Front, Forgiving Back
Course played extra long due to soggy conditions from al the recent rain. Narrow fairways make accuracy a must. Wonderful true rolling greens.
Beautiful Day at QRidge !!!
Had a great time as usual at Quarry Ridge.
Conditions were good, weather was great, the outdoor grill was open for a dog at the turn.
Only downside was the SLOWWWWW group ahead of us, had to wait on every shot.
First 5 hour round of the year...
Quarry Ridge
Had a great time as usual at this course, a little pricey for a weekday but in-line with others at this point I guess…
There was a beverage cart service which was great as temps were in the mid 90s.
Course was in pretty good condition.
We will be back.
Good condition
Nice day on the golf course. The course is in good condition bar a few tee boxes,The greens were a bit inconsistent and had a lot of un repaired ball marks..It would be nice if they had some distance markings on the sprinkler heads but other than that this is a fun place to play. Lots of elevation changes and different club selection off of most of the par fours.I would recommend this place to anybody in the area. Nice friendly staff and the cart girl came around quite often
Course is a good value
Not that long, but challenging on most of the holes. Play here couple times a year and it’s usually in good shape. Some of the traps need work now.
Could have been better
First time playing here this year and was disappointing. The greens were in nice shape. Unfortunately many tee boxes were a mess, the sand traps hadn't been raked in a long time, fairways were okay. My biggest issue was NO water available on the course and no cart to buy anything from.
GREAT COURSE
The course was in great condition 1st time playing this course
Hilly
It was cart path only. This hilly beast of a course is not suitable to walk from the cart path 200 yds up a verticals hill and then try to get off a shot without falling down the hills. If I knew ahead of time I would have cancelled and played there another day.
Quarry Ridge Scenic and Great Layout
I love the view and everything from the tee boxes to greens is excellent. Staff is super friendly and welcoming and generally speaking this course is not crowded. I play in a foursome usually and we play 18 in under 4hrs. No gps on golf carts is not great, but blue white and red distance circles are painted on cart paths. Also, generally you can find prices for 18 holes with cart for 25 to 40 bucks which is great in the Middlefield County area.
I think I may have played with you on Saturday. I tried leaving a review for the same issues. I guess they don't publish 1 star reviews
