Wouldnt go back
I dont like giving negative reviews but I just felt like I had to here. Couldnt tell where the fairways were. Dead short grass everywhere. Teeboxes were in very poor shape. On a good note everything around the greens was well kept and watered. I will not be returning
a nice nine hole track to pratice your position shots
We always have fun at this course as it is easy access for us. They do provide last minute tee times to try to get you in if possible. Friendly people up front. Green stay in great condition. RL
Was able to play 9 holes with friend and my 78 year old Mom. It was enjoyable. People on course were patient and courteous. Course was a bit hard due to dry weather and heat but it helped get some distance for those “rollers”. Nice layout. Would play again and recommend it for a casual game.
Will not go again
Course was in very poor shape. The first green is also the green for the 5th or 6th hole and it totally throws you off. Grass was all dead.
Dried out slow play course
Not bad on a hot day but wouldn’t go there considering the quality of the fairways and the very slow pace of play.
Beautiful 9 hole course
We love this course. Going there pretty much every week. We began golfing last October and this course has his challenges but not too hard. Some nice distances, hole 8 is over the water and the hardest is 9, very strategic.
First time playing this course. Somewhat challenging, lots of water nice greens.
Friendly people playing and friendly staff
Definitely will return.
1st round at Pomperaug Golf Club
Busy day at course which caused slow down. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are in good to excellent condition. Played with two local folks who helped with recommendations on shot placement, etc. Will play again next week.
Nice course for the money
A nice 9 hole course. Can be walked if you choose. Nice layout and some challenging holes. A fair course.
The 3 hour tour
Played nine holes in 3 hours waited behind group of five forever ! Called the pro shop they said they. Would send somebody to get them moving, they never did . I was in group of four watching them take forever on the greens! Course was not in good condition many bare spots greens bumpy from the irrigation holes in each Green that did not heal after a month! Save yourself , don’t say you were not forewarned find another place to play., they send out groups of five turns in to six hour round!!!!
Considering all the rain in the area the course is very playable. They are really trying to maintain the course and keep it up to good condition. The greens were disappointing as many have not healed Properly from aerification . Overall with the weather we have been experiencing it was about what I expected.
I have played Pomperaug previously and I must say it is always a pleasure. The course is playable for all levels and the greens are some of the best around. A very picturesque course with water on every hole. Love the people who are always happy to help and found out yesterday that their patio restaurant is now open with fabulous burgers and dogs. Could use a bit more variety on tee placement from white tees to blue but not anything to detract from the wonderful day.
Great Course Great Shape
Loved playing this course. The greens were very smooth and true and it was an excellent mix of long and short holes. Water on almost every hole only added to the beauty of the course. Would recommend to golfers of all levels.
