Prefect Day
From tees to greens Southington does a great job. Will play there again
Great Course
The course is in great shape. From the tee box to greens. The staff doing the work on the course have done a great job.
Golf day
I did real well this day. I had a 98 which I achieved my goal of getting under 100. Really enjoy corse. Usually very busy on weekends. Recommend for people to come and golf.
Great course!
Teamed up with 3 other Golf Nowers.
We had a great time!
Conditions were spot on considering they experienced torrential rain just 2 days prior.
Course is in good shape and entertaining
I’m a fan of this course, especially since it’s close to where I live. The only thing that can be a bit annoying is that the ground can be very wet at times and there tends to a “carts on path only” rule in play regularly because of it. There is also an older gentleman that rides around to make sure you stick to that rule. He’s not always the friendliest either. However, because they are a bit strict, the course is in great shape. They also have a nice spot to grab some grub and beer after the round. Would recommended to anyone.
Water
So it was 90+ degrees today. There are two water fountains on the course, one on the front nine, the other on the back nine. But the water was milky color. I found out that these fountains have not been maintained since the pandemic. But to have no water on the course during the heat wave is intolerable. The owners are well known in Southington. They have a reputation for running a class business. But to take our money and not care for our health is intolerable.
Place a play kills a solid course.
I am a 7.2 (not that it matters) and like to get out with my wife to play courses. When we got to the course, we could see walkers and 2 somes out there which was cool, but when we went to check in we are told that we were playing with 2 other ladies. I know a lot of great lady golfers that would clean my clock, but we asked if we could go out as a pair, and the ranger let us but said, "You're not going anywhere". We were like cool when out, and the pace of play was the worst I have seen, and that includes Florida courses where 5+ hours is standard (if it is not private). Honestly, 5-10mins per shot. We got through 6 in about 2 hours, and we are like, nope, let's go eat. The course was in very nice shape. Props to the ground crew / super.
Great course not so friendly staff..
Great course and lay out… greens were in great condition.. the bad part is Ranger told us to speed up to only go to next T box and wait on the group before…and he sat there behind us waiting making us feel uncomfortable.. Then I over heard Ranger say “He spending a lot of time with that Range finder” yea well I was having a good round and I wanted to make sure my distance was perfect… the guys behind us in the men’s league came on to our T Box as we were hitting and throw his clubs on the T Box to give us a sign to hurry up… to not only see the groups in front of us we’re back up as well..they had a men’s league on a Sat morning prime time of golf for the public just a heads up.. and no driven range… and cart girl was told to come out at 930am did not see her until 1130am… I calculated or time 18 holes took me 4hrs 20 mins so I don’t know how slow we were going to get told twice…
Golf exp
I thought it was a great place wide open. Definitely will be going back
Excellent and Playable Course
Southington Country Club was a very enjoyable course that was in excellent condition. It was challenging, but not at all overwhelming. Very enjoyable to play. Excellent experience. I would highly recommend it.
Course & Conditions perfect.
Always a good place. Course was perfect. Will go again.
Better than expected.
Great course in great condition. Played 0700 on a Friday, so pace of play was fantastic. Likely not so on a weekend. First time playing because I’m poor and pricing is too high to play regularly, but would if I could!
